Sounds like fun.

I'm just in the process of buying a fruit shredder and press to start making cider though so that'll be it for me for the time being.

Thread brought back to life to report this excellent deal ...

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/laphroaig-whisky-quarter-cask-70cl-25-00-asda-2386021

One of my favourite whiskies at a brilliant price. Personally, I ordered from Amazon using Prime. Not currently in stock but they will honour the price and dispatch as soon as it is.

A very strong (48 % Vol) smoky/peaty single malt so not to everyone's taste.

Laphroaig Quarter Cask. Nice. I find that it is like the 10, but with a bit more in every way :-)

Just finished a bottle of some sherry barrel whiskey (excellent BTW), this looks a good deal - cheers OB.

Well, if it's highly rated by seasoned whiskey drinkers here it can't be that bad, and cheaper than a quality tipple from the super market so a punt of £25 on amazon prime sounds like a good deal!

Also ordered :)

How lovely.

I look forward having some of it at the LAN. It'll be a nice accompaniment to a Distillers Edition I have lined up.

For Oldie and Pen, a little reminder to where all roads lead to ........:D

The first bottle on the right (nearest to Oldie, suprisingly) was the best whisky I've tasted in my life, and that's saying something:dribble:

Was that the ridiculously expensive bottle that one of the BIG guys brought down?

I remember me and Target fighting over the Lagavulin ... gorgeous stuff.

I shall be bringing one of these.

And, just a heads-up that this evening in sanctioned by the hotel. The guidelines surrounding bringing in your own drink are still very much in effect.

I think so. I can vaguely recall being told that it was bottled from a 'private' barrel.
The Lagavulin was very 'peaty' IIRC.
Happy days!!

The writing on the side indicates "single cask". You can get that sort of thing through being a member (or knowing a member) of the Scotch malt whisky society https://www.smws.com ...not sure where else you'd find it? I've been to their London members club once or twice as a guest, never got round to joining though! Worth a trip if you can get an invite or go on an open day :flirty:
