1.6 Gettin Me Intrested Again

Hi guys

I downloaded 1.6 steam when it first came out , many ppl said that you really neeeded adsl or high speed, after i did the rather large dl i encountered many problems  which i decided where fair enough as it was steam and i was uing 64k
After 1 game i could nver get back on it again :/ so i deleted it , i found many of the problems which many others where getting.

Now that i see many of your now have it i was just thinking that i should get it once again.

So i need to first dl steam , and then search for 1.6 and hl updates within steam ?

Then does it copy my cs and hl folder and update it ?

Is the newer Steam more stable ?

Can i use 64k ?

Does it rock the socks off 1.5 ?

Could i just play on my own with bots on lan , will this minimise problems ?

Ive checked the net but it seems quite old. Also im not on my home pc for a while so i wouldnt mind doing it straight away when i get hom wed afternoon so i can get into the action of 1.6

It may prove to some that Cs isnt dying after all , even though i nver thought it was. Maybe just the public n00bs eh

Simpy(!) download Steam, run it and it takes over the world. It updates itself, has nothing to do with your regular cs and takes a bloody lifetime! Be warned, there is a lot of d/ling to do but be patient, it is worth it. Check out the 'friends' part.  
Oh yes, the bots are wicked. I joined JB in a game and it was a while before I twigged they were bots. Almost as good as Raven Shield bots. Actually, on reflection, they're better.

i love the riot shield in 1.6 shame u cant buy it on the t side tho u can pick it up off the ground off dead cts etc. Also you can only use secondary weapons
