I would like to propose that, when considering your teams for official e.g. Enemy Down matches, supporting members have priority for selection. In other words you should not select a non-supporting member before an available supporting member (assuming any availability deadline has been met).

I hope I can have your support on this.

I agree. We should be doing everything we can to gently sway people into a subscription whilst giving supporters whatever value proposition we can muster.

We should add it here Oldie:  http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=257105&postcount=1   It's your post do you want to update it?? It also needs to be tweaked as it talks about the (now removed) supporting members link in the Navigation Panel

I'd also like to know on what basis people are selected to play? If a match is oversubscribed then how is the decision made on who plays? I'd like to think that priority is given to people who didn't play in the previous match(es) so that everyone has a turn (supporters still override non-supporters though). Is there a formula we work to?

nice idea in principle and I'll let the war arrangers know. But a bit of team balance is also important + keeping regulars interested who sign up every week but have not yet subscribed..

Let them know the selection criteria and if they still don't subscribe then let them play elsewhere where 'clan' members pay £10 a month each for server rental.

Who are we actually talking about?

Have to say with 60+ subscribers now I'm increasingly struggling to find regular posters haven't signed up. :)

edit: ok had a quick Scan.... I can see DuVeL, b00n and Sulky. DuVeL did say he was going to subscribe, not sure about b00n and Sulky was complaining about donations not being made into subscriptions. I've told him twice now in forum to send me details of his donation and I'll convert it but he hasn't replied.

I don't care about upsetting people. It's keeping a team that can compete, with a good number of players to select from every week.

How's it help if i have 2 good players, who turn up every week and are regulars on the publics get told they can't play because I have a couple of  subscribers (remember anyone can subscribe) who never play fancy a go. Nice team building.
We may as well just kick non subscribers off our full servers to make way for the subscribers.
So subscription will be a factor on team selection but not the overriding one.

you can give them priority on our ladder if you like.

Sorry but you're wrong. It's about community members representing the community and what we stand for. Your pool of players are the badge holding subscribers. The rest are there to make the numbers up.
