Mine is a simple story.

My Dad followed The Great Bill Shankly from Huddersfield Town to Liverpool FC and at 6 years old I started to get a interest in Football and asked my dad to take me to a game.
He choose Liverpool, I dont remember the game or the score but I do remember the singing and the other fans around us being great to me when my dad explained it was my first visit.

Being from a small village situated between Manchester and Huddersfield I could have had a pick of many teams, the closest in miles would have been Oldham but since I dont associate myself with Oldham at all it wasnt really a choice for me to change my club as I got older.

I have supported Liverpool for 26 years now and that will never change all we need now is a ruddy league title

:toast:

I have a funny story about a Man U and Liverpool shirt but I'll save it for the LAN

Born in Tooting, lived in Earlsfield at the start of the 70s. Safer for father to take kids to smaller teams rather than Fulham or Palace, so went to Wimbledon, just down the road at Plough Lane.
Went to my first away game (at Tonbridge) as a 2 or 3 year old.
Carried on going regularly until moving to Aldershot in 74, but travelled most times from about 84, until the relocation to Selhurst and me at University stopped me going as much until mid 90s when I went more often, then the Selhurst effect found me going less. After 28/5/2002, I refused to have anything to do with the MK Franchise and started seeing old friends at AFC Wimbledon. Became more involved with working for the club including coaching kids at their academy, pitch work at half time and various amounts of cabling and technical work in the stadium.
I then got involved with helping out the club's internet radio station, and now commentate live, plus a little DJing live and hosting (and editing) the Friday night preview show. I also now organise the delivery of match highlights footage onto YouTube and work with the audio technical side of our virtual stadium.
Guess it's in the blood now.

I've been a fan of LFC since I was a kid.  I was probably about 8 or 10 years old when I started getting interested - thats 35 years now! :roflmao:

There's no particular story behind my supporting the 'pool' other than they are obviously the best team there has ever been!

Don't watch nor particular enjoy football but if pressed, the only team I have ever vaguely supported in Charlton Athletic.

Why? My Godfather, John Fryer, pulled them from the brink of Receivership in the mid-80's and became Chairman. When he died and they sold the club I kinda lost interest and haven't followed anyone since.

I always think he was really hurt as they tried to keep the Club at The Valley but couldn't buy the ground. The fans never forgave the forced move to Selhurst Park and the fact that they had saved them from the Receivers seemed to be lost on many of them...:eyebrow:

taken http://charltonathleticfchistory.blogspot.com/:
Battle for the Valley (1985 - 1992)

During the 1984/5 season, the average attendance at The Valley reached a record low of 5,104 and the increasing financial instability of the club over the past three decades came to a head with a bankruptcy hearing in the High Court in 1984. During this hearing the club were five minutes away from receivership before a rescue package from Sunley Group was accepted. However, Charlton's future was anything but secure and in March 1984 the new Chairman John Fryer announced that while he owned the club he did not own the freehold for The Valley that still belonged to former chairman Michael Gilksten. Despite several last minute proposals the board announced in September 1985 that the club was moving from The Valley, its home for 66 years, and was to play at Selhurst Park, home of local rivals Crystal Palace.

I thought you'd be a Peterborough fan Pen.

Personally, I like flowing, exciting football. Hence Tottenham.

Stoke....no other team for me....

come the revolution the first against the wall would be those who follow a team that they have no link to whatsoever and who just happen to be one of the top 4 :eyebrow:

What are you trying to say? No link other than 30+ years of following? Isn't that good enough? :ranting2:

So its Champions League tonight. C'mon Porto!

Hopefully we can do both.

Aston Villa, whole family supports Villa.

My uncle took me to loads of matches with my cousin when I was young, and even bought me a share for £20 for my 18th.

My uncle died a while back and I was determined never to sell it, but Randy Lerner bought the whole club and bought all the private shareholders out
Still £550 was nice

My old man said be a city fan ,,, and I said £$%^&)$ you a £$% we hate the city and you $%^&*(* know it
we hate the city and well' $£%^&^%% show it ......
