Hi guys, seriously, Blizzard costume designers are in "low creativity mode" nowadays... before Warlock Tier 8 is ugly as hell, but now... well, all look the same... crap...

I had kinda expected it. 3 whole new costume sets, and different for horde and alliance too? :O That's asking a lot of a company that only has a monthly revenue of a couple of million :(

Seems they just need to do this every once in a while. First AQ40, then the Arena sets, and now Coliseum. Matches the whole 'crap' feel around the instance I guess.

While we're on new stuff, check out some of the stuff in 3.2 that *does* win!

A 1-HANDED MACE!!! (inside joke)

Also, further to the right are Argent Charger and the tabard and stuff... and the charger is only 100 seals! w00t!

And apparently you can buy heirloom items both with badges and with seals, whichever way you choose. :D

Is it just me or the clothies tiers are the same only with different colors?

Azunai

They are and any class will be. I reckon Pally/Warrior/DK will be the same model different color, so are mage/priest/warlock. I guess Druid/Rogues are the same, and Hunter/Shammy are only slightly different from one another. Fail.

Aye. They've said they want a common theme for a given armour type. What that basically boils down to is the same model for the majority of the classes using that type, but with a different colour scheme for each class (on the plus side, you do get entirely different models for Alliance and Horde now apparently). If you look at the hunter vs shammy for Horde they've altered the shoulders, so the shammy ones are reminiscent of earthy lava-y stuff like T1, whereas hunter has something more like insect bodyplates, and there are a few other little model differences, but mostly it's a colour thing. The cloth as far as i can tell is exactly the same model all over, just differently coloured.

I guess they might be trying to make the sides more distinct. At the mo an orc in full lock T8 with helm showing wouldn't look that different from a human in the same gear. With differing looks for each side they might be trying to elicit more of a sense of belonging to a specific side. Under the previous system that would have involved creating twice as many models and textures. This way it works out roughly the same amount of design work as before, give or take.

I wouldn't care so much if the models for certain classes would be the same, but they can at least make it look interesting! This looks like some Tier 1 or 2 stuff. We need spiky armor, magical swirls, chains hanging from shoulderpads, detailed chestguards etc. It's Tier 9 we're talking about!

Lol, can you imagine a rogue dressed in druids' leaves or a resto druid with the classic rogue's skulls? Will you ever want to be healed by a guy dressed in skulls of the previous customers? :narnar:

Azunai

Exactly, which means they limit the detail on the models as there's very few commonalities between a druid and a rogue =\

Agree!

Moreover, the freaking lock Tier 7 is just a "rehused" Tier 3 model! Seriously, whats going on??

Well we knew that, as all Tier 7 is Tier 3, because it's from the same instance (Naxxramas) which was barely accessible to the public when it was first there. So that's no biggie. But the rest....
