Maybe you look like a felon?? :lmfao:

But seriously, WHY?! I mean most homes have atleast 20 knifes in any size in there kitchen. If you wanted to stab someone, why buy a full dinner set, when you can get 1 easy as pie at home

Luckily I live in holland, where you can buy any kitchen knife of any size, at whatever age you are.

I reckon the argument is that cutlery can be used to stab people -> minors can not acquire guns and survival knifes, but can acquire cutlery -> purchase should be supervised.

The thing is, if this was to work there should be supervision with just about any somewhat solid article including keys, pencils, bottles and tons of DIY-equipment etc ... This is so silly!

lmao! I've not been or looked like a minor for 10 years! I hadn't even had a shave the day it happened. I did laugh at her and say thanks, made me feel younger :D

And about the other sharp objects, have you seen the last batman where joker kills the guy with a pen. Classic death that, KAPOW!

Nefertem

if you really wish to kill someone premeditated, using a knife already existing in your kitchen is not the way to go, therefore buying a new one will make sense.. I see your point though, besides I doubt it will be difficult for people to get a knife outside of usual appliances stores..

The few times I've been asked to show an ID, has been in norway.. no where else has I been asked to show it.. Since I was 15....

Knives are not hard to get hold of. The logic is their parents will notice a missing knife and instantly dissuade their child from a life of knife crime and criminal adventures.
If it's anything like my house you have one knife set and dozens of loose knives that could be misplaced without anyone noticing. If I were 12 I could stock up on knives without my parents knowing. Age limit or not.

There was a boom in knife crime and this was brought in to try and make it look like something was being done, but now nobody wants to be the person who says "I think kids should be allowed to buy knives". It's not a big deal for the kids though, they can buy a gun instead relatively easily.

I can fully agree with people asking kids for id or people just buying a knife and nothing else.

But they need to use some common sense! I was buying a whole load of food and water and all sorts, and a cutlery set. Clearly I was planning to use the knives for something other than eating

Toddshooter

Hehehehe  That is nuts!!!:D

I have bought both my kids Jackknives and I teach all the kids in my Cub Scout group how to use knives all the time.  I'll be watching my back from now on I tell ya:roflmao:

I was in the scouts, and also my folks and other olders and betters let me handle knives.  To which end I became aware of the dangers and how to use the properly.

As snokio and Lex can vouch for.

Yup.  It only takes one time cutting yourself to learn you don't want to repeat it:)

Although, in some circles, this is a high.........

Drugs, kids don't do it, cutting yourself however, parents understand?, or do they.......what drug does your child take?

Please be aware......more children harm themselves with self abuse than drug taking..............And it only takes a conversation, although it might be the hardest "interview" of your life.
