Can't you install and get covered by the 30day relaxed period prior to activation?

30 days will get you past the time when the servers properly open up. People can still run the beta versions, so it would not make much sense to punish people who have paid money.

I've got the digital version, I could install off a different image, and then put the key in later (according to my brother who has been testing from when it was still by invite - doesn't mean he's right though)

id guess the installer checks the bios date and time clocks, and refuses the installer to progress, but that would be easy to bypass..
I could test it out, but not really interested in getting shitkicked by MS if they finds out

I won't be at the LAN and it doesn't look as though I'll my machine running until the postman decide to stop ****ing about! I'm waiting for Windows 7 to arrive, it should have been here Wednesday. :taz:

At last! New machine is up and running. Superb case, nice blue lights and a gentle hum from the 67 fans.

Really is quiet and all the bits inside are nice and cool. As for Windows 7....I bypassed Vista so W7 came as a culture shock. It's taken me 3 days to do what would have taken 3 hours in XP. NOTHING is where you/I want it to be but I am, at last, finding my way around. One of the early jobs was to get rid of the 'nanny state' pop-ups. Jesus! 'Are you sure you want to do this?' 'You need to be a more important person to do this' 'If you do this I will explode in your face!'
Having said that, it's slick and I like it.

One or two little things to sort out, this is the most irritating:
"cannot create a file when that file already exists" I get that by clicking on netKar PRO shortcut. Anyobne else had that?
All in all, a very happy bunny.
