Found a lot of offpec kitty dps gear in my bank so I thought I would give it a try

From what I have seen it's a very difficult spec to master .. after setting up all my bars timers triggers I came across feral by night

Its gives you a predicted rotation, when I was testing it was right on the money for single target. something for me to work on :D

It aint hard to learn, Just know the timers and kitty dps is easy.

With bosses your rotation is simple and you have spare time to do even other stuff, (like giving an innervate to a healer) without destroying your rotation.

On trash it is a different story as most of the time they are already down before you go into the second phase of your rotation.

But they say kitty dps is hard to play, but it aint, as long as you know the timers you have an easy job during a raid :flirty:

The current wowwiki page is surprisingly up to date imo on cat dps, so I post it here for reference.
http://www.wowwiki.com/Feral_DPS_guide

The wiki quotes the current dps rotation as this:
Quote from: wowwikiFeral DPS relies on a list of priorities, i.e. an Algorithm - although this is commonly referred to as a rotation. The list below is in order of importance, i.e. [Mangle] is more important than [Savage Roar] which is more important than [Rake] which is more important than [Shred]. Keep in mind that the following algorithm is designed to maximize the raid's overall DPS as opposed to your own, and sometimes you will have to switch targets to adds that may die too fast for you to "ramp up" effectively.

   1. With 3 or more targets inside 5 yards in your frontal 180 degree arc - and it doesnââ,¬â,,¢t matter which dies first - use Mangle to keep up Savage Roar and use [Swipe] whether itââ,¬â,,¢s talented or not. If targets die too quickly or you can't get in a good position to Swipe, just concentrate on Savage Roar and Mangle/Shred, alt. Mangle/Rake if using [Idol of the Crying Moon].
   2. With two targets, pick the one that will last the longest and proceed with single-target DPS:
   3. Keep up [Faerie Fire (Feral)] unless your group also has a boomkin who puts up [Improved Faerie Fire] in the first second or two ââ,¬â€œ and keeps it up.
   4. Keep Mangle up - many 25p raids will have a Trauma-specced warrior who does this automatically, or a Bear tank. If you're keeping this debuff up for the raid, it's by far the greatest DPS contribution you can make, as it greatly affects the damage from warriors, rogues and some hunters, who all use bleed effects.
   5. Keep Savage Roar up ââ,¬â€œ you want 100% uptime, though in reality it will drop during Innervates/Rebirth/phase-changes/run-in-run-out mechanics etc.
   6. If you have less than 35 Energy, use [Tiger's Fury] (or [Nature's Grasp] - which can proc [Omen of Clarity]).
   7. If you know threat will not be an issue or you've already taken steps to deal with it (by talking to a paladin about getting [Hand of Salvation] ahead of time - or a warrior's [Vigilance]), use [Berserk] at this point in the initial pull in order to use it as many times as possible in a fight.
   8. If Omen of Clarity procs, use Shred, unless Mangle or Savage Roar is about to run out.
   9. Keep Rake up but don't clip it - if you clip it, it may cost you energy and give you a combo point, but not overwrite or extend the bleed effect. (This has not been confirmed to be a bug or intended behaviour.)
  10. Shred - a Rip-extending Shred may be higher damage-per-energy than Rake - REFERENCE NEEDED
  11. Get 5 Combo points then Rip ââ,¬â€œ unless Rip is already up, in which case pool energy and wait
  12. If you have 5 Combo points and thereââ,¬â,,¢s 8 seconds or more left on *BOTH* Savage Roar and Rip, then and only then Ferocious Bite - ideally you want easy 5 Combo points afterward, e.g. Tiger's Fury coming off cooldown.
  13. Anticipate if Savage Roar and Rip will run out concurrently, and clip Savage Roar to desynchronize the timers with a low-Combo Point Savage Roar immediately. Clip Savage Roar, but don't clip Rip unless you're about to lose melee contact with the boss for an extended period of time.
  14. [Berserk] as early and as often as possible except:
         1. Save it to take advantage of a boss mechanic
         2. Try to stack with cooldowns like [Hysteria] or [Shattering Throw]
         3. Try not to Berserk within 6s after Tiger's Fury except for the first one, nor at low Energy and not at above 85 Energy REFERENCE NEEDED.

Do everything right, with decent to good gear, on a static fight - according to some calculations in SimulationCraft you could end up with 40% downtime, i.e. just pooling energy - a key part of becoming a good feral DPS player is recognizing when this is a good thing, and how to line up GCDs for best effect as timers collide chaotically.

The above DPS algorithm also happens to be one of the most complicated in the game, and according to the World of Warcraft Lead Systems Designer Greg Street, a.k.a. Ghostcrawler.

and if words don't do it for you then try the full on flow chart:

and if the above flow chart is too complicated then try EA Sports' John Madden Cat DPS 2010 simplified flow chart:

Cat dps is frustrating as heck for anything but bosses, but when you get the time to get the rotation up and running then it is a beautiful thing to see the dps numbers get higher and higher!

And finally, I recommend book-marking the EJ druid section and trawling it regularly for new gems.  It's full of nice info:

The best EJ article is probably this one:
http://elitistjerks.com/f73/t63774-feral_dps_discussion/
QuoteAs there is no real rotation, we speak of a "priority list" for cat DPS. Try to follow the following instructions in the given order.

1. Keep up Savage Roar
2. Keep up Mangle
3. Keep up Rake
4. Use shred for CP regeneration (remember, that points 2 and 3 are more important)
5. When at 5 CP and Rip is not up, use Rip
6. When below 30 Energy, use TF
7. Use Clearcast Proccs for Shred
8. When at 5 CP and Rip and SR are running with 8 seconds (might be longer, depending on your gear) or longer each, use FB
9. When Rip and SR will drop at nearly the same time (with less than 3 seconds difference), try to recognize it early. Then use SR with a small amount of CP to desynchronize both timers.
10. Use Berserk only at high energy, (but not higher than 85) not directly after TF and as often as possible. If you will get Hysteria or some boss mechanics will enhance your damage, save it for these situations.

This priority list is quite hard to maintain. Cat DPS is one of the most complicated ones in PvE WoW. Try to remember these rules:

1. Remember: Savage Roar buffs everything; Mangle buffs bleeds and shred; Bleeds buff shred. That means, never shred without applying mangle and at least one bleeding.
2. It doesn't matter how many CP you use for SR. Just make sure it never drops!
3. Use Rip and FB only with 5 CP
4. It is very tricky to squeeze in FB's in your rotation. At first you should try to maximize SR, Mangle, Rip and Rake uptime (in this order). When you get more experienced, try to FB more. You need to guess how much time is needed for building up 5 CP's - this depends on your crit chance. Usually, a FB is worth dropping Rip for 4 Ticks approx (8 seconds). Remember that after using Rip, you need energy for building at least one more CP to refresh SR if necessary.
5. FB is most efficient when used at 35 energy. It gets worse when you spend more, thus making it least efficient when using with 65 energy.
6. A 5 CP FB is always more efficient than a shred, even when used at 65 energy.
7. When using the shred glyph: When rake and rip are about to expire and you could shred to extend the rip duration for 2 more seconds at the cost of letting rake drop for 1-2 seconds - do it.

Hope this helps!

Actually that one is pretty accurate as well ;)

So, just to sum up: you have the worst known (?) rotation, you're not only melee but you also have positioning requirements in an expansion where the melee are generally a huge PITA to play up to the standard demanded by the fights and you still don't have specced balance?
*facepalm
I pity you, fools.
