I can't remember the exact name of the mission we played last night, but I thought it was pretty darn good. My thoughts:

Good:
Lots of bad guys to shoot, and a broad array of challenges (tanks, choppers jeeps etc).

Plenty of hardware for us to play with, gives the leader plenty of options.

Clearly defined objective. We had to plant a laser strobe on a target and we nearly made it.

Commander ability to construct FOB's is rather neat.

I liked the longer first aid procedure. Created real tension and required good team work to rescue someone.

Bad:
The piggin' rain. Visibility was down to about 150m at one point.

The enemy AI. It seemed to be one notch too high, but this might have been amplified by the crappy weather (they seemed to be able to see alot further than we could, even with TWS scopes).

What did you guys think? I'd also like to have a crack at this during night conditions. Could make for some spectacular artillery action!

I will know the name of it when I see it but agreed it was NAILS but great fun I think this could have legs as that was only the 1st objective, to complete it we have to achieve 3 objectives.

Sulky was leading and did a great job considering what we were up against.  I think it was the part when we rolled out with OB Striker with the biggest cannon, which could blow the earth a new rectum,  but then got spotted by a BRDM and we then found out it we had tissue paper for armour.  :)

The visibility was a pain but it was very cool to watch it lift :)

It was a fine map and was called 'Barnyard Animal' I think. However there were a few issues.

I agree with Tutonic about the negatives he mentioned, but also I was a little disappointed that we never made it into the city proper. I know there is a general agreement that some close quarter city action would be nice and that we're looking at ways to add it to our games without having to download loads of additional stuff etc. Therefore I hoped that this map might give us the city fighting we want. However we never seemed to actually get into the city proper.

There was a nasty bug that basically emptied the AA vehicle I was driving of ammo when  approached the deployed rearming/refuelling point. This was a major problem and makes rearming worse than useless if it's a reoccurring bug.

The class roles were a bit confusing. The map is very hard and discovering that only certain players can command certain vehicles or helicopters adds to that difficulty. I'm not sure it's an extra challenge we really need.

The map seems designed for a larger group of players and as Tutonic mentioned the AI is huge in number and seems to be very powerful. With a small group we should be better than the AI but obviously outnumbered. Generally I don't mind getting shot if I make mistakes or fail to spot an enemy. However last night we were being hit by AI with inferior weapons from vast ranges with no effective way to take them down.

Maybe if we turn down the AI brains a bit this might play much better for smaller groups.

Otherwise a very tough  but fun map. I'd love to have a go at it with ten players. i think we'd really have a blast.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

One suggestion from last night:

We're crying out for a 'Medic' class that's able to heal injured soldiers, not just revive them. Having to find an MEV/MASH just so you can aim straight is a huge PITA.

So if it's Barnyard it's one of my tinkers. I can tinker the skill down and fix the weather I think. I can also unlock the vehicles. (girls)

I'll make a light version in a bit and give it a suitable name. Not sure on medics but will try.

Done all but the medics bit, uploaded. you need Lib to do that, it's beyond me. Vehicles unlocked, skill dropped. Girls.  Can't recall what I called it, something animal related.
