As soon as the new server is up we'll arrange a night (probably a Friday) to play-test all six maps in a mini rotation.

We're just waiting on the CPU now.

To confimr, the CPU was picked up by Watford Electronics last week.  They will test it and get back to me.  I have their agreement in principle that if the CPU checks out then I'll be able to tak ethe whole shooting match (CPU, Mobo and RAM) down to them to find out why it won't go together.......

Ooh, I downloaded the pack last night. I already have (and know pretty well) Volare and Drugwar. Volare is among my favourites - it's so pretty, and very even. It'll be hard to set map boundaries on it though, I think, but it'll be interesting to try it as PCS.

I agree. This map requires some dynamical teamplay but I think we will manage to set up boundaries.

some of the maps in the packs we played at the lan and a few of them were auful for our style of play, not many people liked them, i cant rember exactlly which ones they were thought, i think one was drugwar [the very last one we played]

as i said i cant remeber which ones, i was a bit drunk most of the weekend, caused by me spending 1/2 the 1st day formatting my pc so i had nothing to do but go 2 the bar and get a pint. [and tell the bar man that he was doing every think wrong, which was vewry funny]

Our style of play is professional CS. These maps requires teamplay, voice communication and tactics to win on. If that is not PCS i don't know. In the current rotation there are some maps that are way worse than these six.

It's just like when someone says "Don't go over there...it stinks!" And what do you do? Go straight over and sniff.
I've just started to play PCS and now some of the maps look like being dumped before I have had a chance to see just how crap they are.

What about a nostalgia night in the future for newb like me to find out for myself and for the rest of you to remember just how bad they were

Doorman, Dust sounds OK as a PCS map. All the fun takes place in the passages and the two bomb sites anyway. If I remember correctly we all just got bored of Pussycats manic grenade frenzy's  :D

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

OldBloke

The only problem with de_dust (IMHO) is a crucial one. Unless the Ts immediately rush left/left from spawn then they face playing a map where all the entrances to the bombsites are covered with no flanking option available.

Although rushing from spawn is a legitimate tactic it's not textbook PCS and as such spoils the map for me.

Hoorah for OldBloke! My thoughts exactly.
