What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on? I have been in many casual guilds but got bored of never achieving anything. I am currently in my first actual raiding guild but i feel like i'm being held back by some of the other members of the group mainly the current raid leader.
Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you? I have a druid i play.
What are your plans for the game? My goal is to be the best i can be, i someday hope to be part of the best progressed and skilled raid group on the server and i hope it is with Dead Men Raiding.
In what way would you like others to know you? I like to be known as either 'Dec' or 'Worg' (My mains name)

My favourite part of WoW is tanking it is probably the reason i log on most days, i love the challenge it brings and how every fight needs something a little different.

One thing i don't like about the game is legendary's i feel they are unnecessary.

Why did you decide to play this class? I tried playing a caster DPS and i didn't enjoy it. I didnt want to fully level another character so soon, so i made a Death Kinght, Since then i have grown to love everything about the class and it would take something very special to change my mind.
What do you think your class' role is in raid content? To output fairly high DPS for a tank while effectively taking and losing aggro when necessary and of course to stay alive.

Your build.
Why did you choose it? I think it not only maximises my class' effectiveness but also fits me personally. For example i took "abom might", this could have been taken by another class and i could use the point somewhere else but i opted to take it to avoid other members having to sacrifice their ideal builds, i believe this reflects me as a person.
What do you think of other builds of your class? I like the builds off for example noxxic but i believe to truly make your build the best it can be you have to have some input yourself and that is what i have done.

This guild

What do you look for in a guild? I like guilds that are social and that you can enjoy talking to and spending time with but can also get things done in raids and who aren't afraid to address problems.
''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name? When i see the name i think of it being one of the top guilds on the server
There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us? I have browsed other guilds and this one looks to be the kind of guild that you actually enjoy raiding with and also enjoy spending out of raid time with as well.
Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? Yes
What do you think of them? I think if a guild wishes to succeed they need rules and requirements layed out so that people know how things work and what they can do if they don't agree with something.

Tbh, it looks a well written app, better than I would have expected from the age. 16 is borderline, but going on the app I think he's worth an interview.

Looks like a decent app, he havn't enchanted his wrists even though he got them about 2 weeks ago but he might just have forgotten about them, we all been there so no major problem

My personal opinion is that he might be bit aggressive or "hardcore" but that might be just me and if he is we can always knock it out of him

but part from that seems like a fine app so got my approval.

App is pretty good but 16 is too young. Not saying we shouldn't talk to him but that's my starting position ;-)

Ok, so I've invited him to contact us this evening on TS. Talking can't hurt and we'll be able to assess the nupty in him.

I tend to agree 16 is on the younger side of things, and younger than we should be aiming to take on, but every now and then you can come across someone who is solid gold and older than their years - Jorgen springs to mind (one of the best tanks on Aszune back in earlier expansions). This one could be anywhere between solid gold and total nutcase though.

Coupled with Hal's impending absences (they start tomorrow), Torgen's statement of "RL > raiding" (which will mean lower attendance) and the normally anticipated summer drop in attendance then I think we're backing slowly into a corner from which we currently have no escape route.

Unfortunately this is factoring into the way I am thinking about this app especially as, from a gear-perspective, he could be used immediately.

Doing last night's run as a DK tank and running logs for it gave me the opportunity to look at Worganator's performance in our main raids and compare them to my own. I know it is not all strictly comparable, but I have a couple of immediate questions:

-is his hit & exp too low? he seems to be missing 6% of everything?
-does he need a major reforge
-why is my DK in i386 gear doing more or less the same dps as he is in i399?

Threat seems to an issue for Worgan, is this the result of a combination of low hit, low exp and low dps? We had the opposite problem last night where I had to stop dps regularly to avoid pulling threat back (albeit from a poor tank).

Just looking to see where we can go back to Worganator as he enters week 4 of his trial to help him improve what he does to the level that we then start to be able to use him on the last 2 heroic fights without fear of problems.

Well, I was scraping around thinking of why his dps was too low, but afaiaa hit & exp are not exactly the most loved of blood tanks and generally get reforged away to Mastery or a balance of dodge/parry (to minimise DR). Perhaps Whytee/Hal can comment on this?

The next questionis, if it is not hit/exp (which I suspect it probably is not), then why is his i399 DK doing so little damage/threat?

What he has done as far as stats is mainly correct for most fights and is pretty much the way I went until heroic Ultraxion, when I reforged into more expertise and hit to help with dps, I went even further down this route on Spine to help with the bloods and dps on the tendon. For single boss fights then the stats that Worg has are fine (although I would have reforged more to Mastery). TBH I don't want to spoon feed him, if he can't do a bit of simple research then do we really want him?

p.s. Although your doing more damage TL, Worg is doing more self healing and avoiding more damage and for a DK tank, that's more important and that's where the extra iLvl shows.

True, but dodge/parry is not a dps ability (apart from proc to Rune Strike), and Deathstrike (for healing) is a dps ability so he should be showing as better on dps too? Or am I misreading it?

I think my issue is I am not generally happy with his progression, he seems to have threat issues (Spine!), and does not seem to be pumping out the dps he could. I would expect an i399 blood tank to be doing more dps *and* doing the healing & avoidance he is doing. Or am I misunderstanding the tank thing with DKs? (the latter is perfectly possible as I am not a blood tnak expert by any definition)

Either way it looks like we need to pull him into a channel and have a review chat with him.

I can't be explaining it very well, better to have a chat on TS but to try and clarify...His dps is lower as he hasn't put the stats in Expertise and Hit which are where most dps comes from. His healing and avoidance come mainly from Master, dodge and parry. What he has done is a vaild choice and the recommended way to prioritise in 4.3 (other than he needs to balance his dodge/parry better). The issue is when you hit a fight like Spine, those stat prios just don't work as you need to be hitting the bloods (or adds) to lock them in in the first place so that vengeance can do it's thing.

If you are tanking aoe targets with low hit /exp then you will miss (not a big issue on single mobs) spine is a good example with the bloods. As its aoe you only need a miss on 1/10 adds for it to head to healers you are then spending time on targeting and taunts not holding what you already have and it just gets worse

The thing that's annoying me is that both me and TL asked him to see what he could do to improve aoe threat for the fight and as far as I can see the only people doing anything about it are us. Lets have a chat with him tonight before the fight and see what he's done, in case he has a secret weapon we don't know about. If he's done nothing then it's a failed trial IMO.
