Summary of Fight

The final boss of Explosive Conflict! An epic battle which starts by engaging a massive walker, and ends with you fighting the Warlord Kephess.

The objective of this fight is to use raid members as a human bomb to bring the walker to its knees and DPS it down. When the warlord leaves the walker, DPS him down.

The walker itself can not be tanked at all throughout the encounter and can only be DPSed after a bomb phase. The walker will also do an AOE attack on the ground. You can see where this is located by watching the head and where's it located. His AOE will leave large purple marks on the ground. Another note, there is constant AOE damage directly underneath the walker.

[PHASE 1]
When the fight starts, there will be three champion droids waiting in front of the walker. Each of the tanks take 1 droid, the last one doesn't do that much damage to be worried about. DPS each droid down to start a [BOMB phase].

[BOMB Phase]
  • After each 'phase' of the encounter, a Bombardier will appear from one of the doors in the area. He will have a bomb icon above his head.
  • The Bomber needs to be killed as quick as possible. He has a debuff that when over, will explode. If he explodes on you, you will have to wait for another one to spawn.
PRO TIP: We found that using a stun right at the start and one right before it was about to explode, delays the explosion and gives you plenty of time to kill him.
  • After you kill the bomber, a person in the raid will get the Bomb Icon above their head. This person MUST run underneath the walker. Healers need to bubble and keep this player topped off while this happens.

[KNOCK ME ON MY KNEES BABY]
After the bomb goes off in the walker, he will drop down on his knees and the raid needs to DPS it down. During this phase all damage increasing cool downs, like inspiration and relics, should be used to maximize burst damage.

[PHASE 2]
  • After the walker stands up-right he will spawn several mobs under a shield. Drop the warrior first in order to disable the shield. If you do damage to any other mob, the shield will reflect the damage and hurt you. There will be 3 groups of these adds. Just make sure you kill the warrior first in each group.
  • Repeat the [BOMB Phase] then the [KNOCK ME ON MY KNEES BABY]

[PHASE 3]
  • The most deadly of phases. Two new adds will spawn that do massive damage. Each one can do around 15k per hit and thus raid members should be topped off as often as possible. Now that health packs are a onetime use it is recommended to save them for the third phase of this boss fight.
  • In addition to the big hits these champions will do AoE damage that can be avoided as well. Large purple circles under the mobs indicates where the damage will hit. Run out of the purple circle! Attack the champion who does not have the circle under his feet. Change targets when needed

PRO TIP: The person farthest away from champion will get hit with the railshot EVERYTIME! Have your off tank stand furthest back from the champion you are fighting. Even if this means the off tank is not in range to dps. The off tank will act as a meat shield for the group taking every railshot. Make sure he/she is healed through this process.

Alternate PRO TIP: The damage from Railshot is proportional to the distance you are from the droid. If everyone stacks right on the droid, the damage will be very small

Warlord Kephess will now jump down and must be picked up by a tank. Repeat the [BOMB Phase] then the [KNOCK ME ON MY KNEES BABY] to fully finish off the walker. It is more than likely that the walker will be at very low health at this point and it may be useful to only divert one or two high hitting DPS to burn it down. In the video below, we had the walker down to approximately 15k health and we simply put our one sentinel on it to finish it off while the rest of the group burned Kephess while waiting for the next bomb carrier. Also be wary of this last bomb carrier, because you may have one DPS engaged with the walker and your main tank engaging Kephess, you will have slightly less damage on a mob that needs to be killed ASAP. Stuns and popping maybe one offensive cooldown may be prudent here.

[PHASE 4 : IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT…]
  • The fourth and final phase of this fight the warlord himself decides to deal with you republic, or imperial, scum.
  • The warlord will do a ground AoE that can be avoided as well as several targets on the ground that also should be avoided
  • There will be another miniphase. Warlord Kephess will spawn a giant purple circle underneath himself that does massive AOE damage. Everyone run out until he is done casting. After this, he starts spawning targets on the ground and should be kited for the remainder of the fight. The tank should taunt and run. The tank SHOULD NOT worry about dps, just RUN!

PRO TIP
When the warlord jumps from the tank to another target, the off-tank should taunt him right away and proceed to trail him. The tank and off-tank should continue to switch tanking him every-time he jumps. We recommend staggering defensive cooldowns for the tanks on each taunt.

Word up.

After analysing our fights this is where we lose people. Ot needs to be furthest away like a frikkin scarecrow!

After a pug run with Aeon alts here it's easy to see why they are the #1 guild. With worse gear than we had the raid took less damage and were able to take the bombers down.
Let us be clear - that pug wiped a LOT on firebrand and stormcaller due to a lack of gear on the alts (hit enrage timers) but we made it at the fourth attempt. So gear should NOT be a problem taking down the bombers.

The healers can provide substantial DPS when not healing and this does make a difference here. We also have stuns, interrupts, etc. But we can only do this if you don't take damage.
Let me provide an example. During the transdosian phase, only 1 tank should ever take damage. The bomber appears after this phase, apart from the 1st one. But because our DPS either stand in the fire or hit the wrong target and get reflective damage myself and voyak are too busy healing everyone to even care about the bomber.

Another example. At the start of the fight it's 7 of us vs 1 droid (assuming 1 tank on another droid).
We all have interrupts. Why does no-one interrupt it? I guarantee that a healer can do more damage than a DPS waiting for their last "tick" of ravage or other channeled skill IF we are able to do so.
"But Twisted, if that's the case then let the healers interrupt it as they have the worst DPS". Sorry, but no. We mainly have raid members as our targets and rarely the kill target. So I only spot things like this at the start of the fight, or in the rare instance the raid is stable.

This fight is not a gear check - it's a raid awareness check.
avoid frontal "cleave" > move out of fire >  select correct target > interrupt > DPS HERE. (pro tip - applies to trash we well)

One last comment. The call on TS "Bomber" is useless because the whole raid aside from the caller spins around like headless chickens locating it.
"Bomber, south east" is better as we then know to head to the SE corner. We don't need to spend time looking around due to the heads up.

Most know where the bomber pops up its most on same places.
Remember the spots for next time.
Not all DPS are standing in the fire and also do not hit the the wrong target.

What i noticed is that during fight is that not all DPS hits the Walker till the end (getting UP) you have too keep hitting him untill he comes up again.
This is if the DPS is good 3 or 4 the time the case.
Bout the Bomber DPS is fine only where are too late even whe know the spots now, dont run away from Bomber also untill hes down.
Yesterday this was also the case!!
