RGW class rebalancing for MoP (25th September)

Ok, linked from the Riggy thread, this is the time to do some rebalancing in my opinion so let's use this thread to talk through options and opportunities.

Note for Switch - please do not comment in the RGW thread as to the make up of the raid group, it just backs you into a corner for later. Do the development & discussion in here with us and we'll try to work this thing out.

Current group:
2 - Priest/Pala/Warlock (Hendrik, Yaril)
7 - DK/Rogue/Druid/Mage (Treach, Nims, Grim, Moon, Pals, Sithy, Hermi)
4 - Hunter/Shaman/Warrior (Mariotet, Sharp, Cynba, Oddbals)

Possible Inbounds:
Disc priest - Amberleigh (confirmed)

MoP RAID GROUP (taken from the RGW & MoP thread)

Tanks: 3
Mariotet - warrior
Oddbal - DK
may not need this spot if we have backup tanks within the group (eg Hendrik/Grim)

Healers: 5
Missriggy - resto druid
Amber - disc priest (need a discussion with Switch re raid days - Monday is a problem for him)
Pendice - resto shaman
Hendrik - holy pala

Melee DPS: 3
Garyuu - DK
Grimnar - feral cat
Sharp - arms warrior

Ranged DPS: 6
Sithy - boomkin Has been told a re-roll is best outcome, he is on holiday until about 10/8 and we will see what remaining spots are when he returns

POSSIBLE ACTIONS:
-Amber into RGW if he agrees HE AGREED TO MOVE TO RGW, ATTENDANCE & DAYS TO BE DISCUSSED
-Ask Pals to switch to DK dps (DK has been doing pretty well in alt run given ilevel) or decline - DONE AND AGREED TO SWAP TO DK
-decline Jewelz as he simply never shows up and is totally unreliable
-decline Bells as he simply never shows up and is totally unreliable
-set a levelling date for raiders to be ready for first raid ~~(Odd needs to level shaman first if that's what he wants to raid on)~~ (no longer relevant as he is tank)
-have a reality talk with Sithy about his raid spot

-need to draft an announcement to RGW about procedure for raiding in MoP (ie signing up in the thread does not guarantee a spot, first raid date etc).
-discuss reasons for raid size (to ensure the raid always goes ahead and so that *nobody* is guaranteed a spot in the instance just for showing up on the night

Talk on TS last night (Switch, Jas, Hal & me) covered:

Restructuring to provide support and a leadership team for Switch to manage to help run RGW DONE
Removing some of the 'problem' people and re-routing some of the QQ via the new leadership team using their Role Leader position

nailing Hendrik down as Holy with Tank offspec (there is no dps DK spot open for him)

solving the Treach/Sharp issue by asking Oddbal to switch to his preferred role as a DK tank (this gives 2 tanks plus Hendrik as a backup) DONE
advising Pals that there is no spot for a cat (Grimnar will take it). Discussing with Pals if she would like to try the DK dps role instead or to drop out. DONE
approaching Grimnar and Mariotet to join the RGW leadership group to fully replace Sith and Sharp. (TL has PM'd both already DONE
advising Sith that he will have a backup role only in MoP due to poor performance (i.e. he'll get a spot if the raid is short of people)

removing Sith enables Moonslash to switch to his preferred Boomkin role, which also makes raid leading easier as a ranged rather than as a healer

Interviewing the resto druid applicant (Riggy) - TL has already posted to come ot TS for an interview DONE
Inviting Swedeguy to RGW on his mage (this gives Hermi competition - or the ability to sit Hermi) DONE
Recruiting for the remaining roles asap (ranged & healer have gaps if the above goes through) - spamming has already started

Spoke to Oddbal about a hypothetical "if a tank spot were to become available would you like it and could you level fast enough to raid" and he said Yes absolutely. So Oddbal is a yes.

May I suggest that the next step is to talk to Pals about moving to DK and inviting her to bring her DK tonight to see how it goes? It can be easily argued on a class balance basis and it gives us real log data to help assess whether the DK will work or not. It's i395 with full i397 tier gear & weapons, just missing a ring and a trinket, otherwise she's good to go.

Asking her to bring her DK tonight on a class balance basis will at least introduce the possibility in her mind that she may not have a raid spot in MoP but it also gives her the chance to make the DK spot hers. I think that this would be the fairest route for her.

Pals....i think as posted we should get her in as dk and see how she performs and can judge from there
Jewles and Bell....totally agree.
Idd a date to be set as Jas has drafted. 2 weeks after launch to be raid ready.
Sithy...I dont want to see him go but i think he needs to. We all know why.

Hendrik....really want him on his pally and ive PM'd him but hes on holiday.
Cynba has a new job and is working anything he can to show a good example, for MoP he will be more settle and ready to raid.
Nims-is tentative but due to recent activity and attitude i personally dont want him in.
Sharp-he wont commit and says he wants to stop so thats sorted.
Treach- wants to reroll but again he is very hit and miss. IMO it wouldnt be a loss.
Rox- work and RL issues has stopped him playing.

After raid the other night i spent about a hour with the new dr00d, Missriggy. I was quite impressed with her heals for her gear. She stumbled a few times especially on hagar but to be thrown in running hcs she did very well. She is already enjoying DMR and wants to stay for the long term so hopefully we have a winner here. I got her to reforge nearly all her gear and gem it better and was very happy to do so.

Me- For MoP i am not fussed which char i play tbh. I love the dr00d and will be resto/boom. Also i have the priest available Shad/Disc....we still have time to get the raid grp setup and i dont mind changing to suit what is needed most for the group. As looking at what we have now with 7 in 1 tier it might be best i went to priest but time will tell...

Pals is sorted and has main changed to DK with immediate effect. Guild ranks have been changed for both toons.

So what do you think we/I should do...

Also we spoke last night TL about telling the raid about the new leaders,mario and Grim. If Sharp is on should we grab him say thanks etc then post about it....Sithy says hes on hols but still posting lol...

RGT had their chat with Amberleigh last night along the lines of we need to run fewer healers in MoP. To his credit, Amber took it very well and is interested in raiding with RGW as a disc priest. However, he has access to his daughter via his ex on Monday nights so would only ever be able to raid on non-Monday nights.

I'd still say that this is a bonus and he would be useful as part of the team. The final raid night of the week also means more focus usually on a progress boss and therefore people sometimes sit out more often, so having someone who does not show on a Monday might perversely be helpful.

It also raises the question of raid nights. RGW have had a significant influx of people are keen to raid, so it might be worth revisiting the raid night issue and seeing if there is an appetite for a third raid night, perhaps the Sunday night?

Let's catch up on this and other outstanding issues when you're next on TS Switch please!
