With the hour race w/pit always being a hit on Thursdays, something that might be fun is having drivers team up and use the "T" function in the pits to allow 2 drivers to handle the same car.

This is really hard to set up because someone always ends up without a team mate, so what. That party would just drive independently for the entire hour.

Also, those not wishing to split the driving can run as an independent. I only mention this because things can happen to disrupt ones race.

Lets say Seany Boy and I team up...because Sean has to work and just cannot make the start...I would stay on the track until such time as Sean signs on and then let him take over with our Mandatory pit.

I could give my team mate a heads up to take over with "PIT IN" bind and he could jump in and let me deal with (ie:fed ex at the door). No restrictions on the amount of times you could change.

It's not something everyone would try, but if we could open the door to let this be an option it might create a buzz.

To surmise, it's the exact same race and pit format, but players have options to share the driving with a partner in crime.

It's only a suggestion, and also having a suggestion box was the opening topic.

Feedback please.

Heya Ant, we've been there and done that, we used to do it on a Sunday evening but the drop in players meant it stopped happening, here are the rules: http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?31467-Driver-Change-in-LFS

We discussed this a few days ago on teamspeak, if we get enough players then it may start up again, 8 is the minimum (4 teams) for a good race.

Anyone else up for some team racing?

We paired the fastest driver with the slowest, all done with help of Oldies' (OldBloke :worshippy:) app which collated the personal best times directly from LFS World.
This removed any advantage gained by any 'sandbaggers' amongst us.

Each team member drove the same number of laps and to make it as fair as possible, all cars had to use the Race 'S' set-up. It were reet bloody good fun I tell 'e.

I'd be up for it, sry I missed the race today real life reared it's ugly head and decided I wouldn't have power for 4 hours.

Yeah team racing would be fun, but as already mentioned it takes quite a few people for it to be good. It was a lot of fun when we used to run it.

I get what you mean, Atom, about having some one take over if they are late or if some one has to leave etc..I have thought of this before. Only problem is it takes a bit of organizing /good communication ( cant type and drive etc), both drivers would really need to be on TS (hint hint

). Although again...such situations would be rare. It's the sort of thing you think of after the fact, Doh!

TS... is preferable but not absolutely necessary, from my experience - but I should be able to set that up, even if only listening.
Could it be arranged on the fly? If enough people are on the server and agree to do a team race, that is...
