I don't know what his games are like, but I love his attitude to hostile EA take-overs, and his respect for the gamers like us.

Abe's Oddysee and it's sequels were astonishly original creative games and the complete antithesis to anything EA have created. They oozed imagination and clearly were created by people with a passion for building wonderful world and memorable characters. I totally understand why he told EA and it's ilk to 'go away'.

I bought the Oddworld games as soon as they relaunched on Steam a couple of years back(?). I thought it was great they were still available and hoped there would be more. It's also nice to see the figures laid down. $7 on a $60, that's how a company can come in with a product like steam and still be in profit after epic sales which typically sell a game for around £2-5, 2/3rds of that goes to the developer so they're getting up to $5 but making a load more sales, I can see now why they jump at the chance.

I hope the Abe games make a decent come back, and I also hope this leads to more developers following the same path. Digital distribution could save the games industry from the cancer that is EA.
