A petition to cajole Rockstar into confirming a PC port of their upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 has received over 47,500 signatures. The petition, created by Mike Juliard, is hoping to collect 100,000 votes of support. Based on the current rate of growth, that shouldn’t take long.

How is this NOT on pc?

It's a simple equation from the publishers point of view.

If the cost of developing a PC version (which is significant, QA ain't cheap) is greater than the predicted sales for said PC version: no dice!

I think GTA 4 did pretty well sales wise (despite reducing most people's PCs to a smouldering ruin), so I imagine we'll get GTA5 at some point.

We will get it, it will just be late. GTA 4 was late to PC too, remember.

The GTA series are strong, plot-driven games without much of a multiplayer appeal. That makes a PC version just a late christmas gift to the pirates :p

There is always a PC version. It's just 6-8 months later than the consoles. The console people pay £40-50 a game, PC gamers pay £25-30. If people typically only buy one copy of a game they'd prefer it were a console version, but the PC versions do come. Same happened with GTA IV, and it happens with dozens of other games. Just a case of being patient.
