Well, it was with a bit of scare that i read that they finally was gonna go through with the making of a WoW movie. The universe is quite big and one can imagine that it will be hard to satisfy the fans, no matter how much they include in the movie. The other day it was announced that the directory was going to be Duncan Jones, and then it became interesting. Duncan Jones probably most known for movies like Moon and Source Code. Both movies where really good in the their own sense i thought. The directory wont do it alone, but its a good start. Maybe something can come of this anyways ;)

It's either going to be:

Faithful to the game and a rubbish movie, or a great movie which has nothing to do with the game whatsoever.
Hero of the Battle Of Chalkeia
"Don\'t worry, none of this blood is mine"

I read somewhere else that the movie is set before the events of vanilla WoW or something?
Why pick that point, there isn't much going on at that time.
The wars are over, Arthas is lich'd, illidan is stuck in the that other place, loads of heroes have come and gone.

I mean what is the premise going to be.

They probably need to tell a new story in the existing world, rather than simply make the film about an already well known canonical event. This often works well in mainstream films where a story is told against the backdrop of a much larger set of events i.e. WWII with films like Saving Private Ryan. Rather than tell a story about the fight for the liberation of Europe it's a story about a small group of people completing a mission in the midst of those huge events. So a WOW film featuring an eclectic group of adventurers tasked with achieving some small victory rather than the Battle for Stormwind would work IMHO. Maybe somehow get one character from each race and send them out on a magnificent Seven or Dirty Dozen type adventure. It's a well tried formula but can make for some really great films. Just a thought.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
