Making skins

Hi all,

I used to spend a fair bit of time skinning on lfs, both public and team skins and enjoy doing it when/if I get time!

I don't want to tread on anyone's toes, just wondered if anyone had any objections to making one or two for general team use?

It seems since Doorman flew away little was done there, however Rob started something again not so long ago.

I have never found time or talent for skinning, but it sure looks better on the server when there are nice skins on the cars, than my usual plain white livery

As Mille says we have several different team skins but there's no rule on having to wear them. I have no objection to you making some for us to wear so knock yourself out :thumb:

I'm still using Doors skins and a UF1 of my own. I always intended to to do some skinning when I had time.
Now I'm retired I cant be arsed :blush2:
You may shame me into it.

Cheers, as I say I just enjoy skinning and its quite a bit easier when there is a theme to go on rather than just trying to create an imaginary livery or find a decent one to replicate that has already been done. Don't expect people to wear them it was just something to fill an hour or two here and there but I will upload the skinfile when they're done so anyone can get them

Anyway, bit of work on the UFR, I "borrowed" the skull from the airio stats page if that's ok :whistle:, this is what I have so far it is a bit work in progress and there are one or two errors :

HI Gav, Looks much better than my efforts (Which I just havent had time to complete!!) IF you wanted the PSP image/PSDs of the skins I did for the logos etc let me know and ill try to upload them somehow.

Hi Turtle, thanks, I just meant the odd skin for here, as and when I get time.

I've done a few team skins before for other teams and it is very time consuming (each skin takes at least 1-2 hours maybe more depending on the overlaps/complexity) and I really don't have the spare time to commit to doing more, sorry pal.

No prob Gav will continue to try and make my own with gimp should this be ok or do i need something else .... have PSP 4.5 freeware dont think it has what it takes to do skins

Gimp is fine for skinning, it's all I ever use, bit tricky at first but once you get used too it it's very good, another good thread is the skin stretching thread by JazzOn (click) shows exactly how much to compensate for the way lfs stretches the skinfile. Master Skinnerz as you've probably found is also great for help.
