Toby brought this game up for 2014/15 and along with Oldie we were discussing it on TS last night.    It's a game I looked at a while back but never got around to pressing the button to add to the kickstarter funding, but am almost certain to be doing so in order to get into the Beta.   This is a short video about why it should be a great game for the community: solo, PVP, economy, coop, this game has it all.   Well worth a quick watch for a summary of this MASSIVEly exciting game - it's a podcast by a gamer, so it gives us the stuff we're interested in, not the stuff the developer wants us to see!

Go drool over the graphics and the ships available for the pre-launch pledge packages.    The thought of a group of us flying a capital ship, running our own smuggling line between systems, providing protection/enforcement, exploring the galaxy and discovering (and getting to name) new star systems.   Destination star system 'dMw'?

This game could be awesome!

Ludicrously ambitious. If they even get a small fraction of those features complete it will be one heck of a game.

I think they're about to pass $36m raised, each time they pass a new threshold they release more content to the game.   Seems there is a huge following and interest for this game.

I'm very tempted to grab a package, probably the alpha, beta access one.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Tutonic

It's an impressive amount of dosh to raise through Kickstarter, but it's not actually very much by 'triple-A' standards - hence my cautious optimism :)

A guy I play DayZ SA (its out now btw. :yahoo: ) has shelled out 20.000 NOK on this and won't stop blabbering about it. Looks to me like LEGO EVE Online :P

I dumped my KS money into Elite Dangerous, probably for old times sake, which has just reached Alpha stage. Their devlog makes good viewing on YouTube for the scale they expect and their current progress.

Teaser

I didn't dump enough money in to get Alpha.

Just looking at the release dates of SC, looks like ED is going to have the jump on them by a long shot.

I am a fully payed up memeber to both through KS, I think the 2 are very very differnt fish, but looking for to both :)

I love the look of this so I'm in with a Freelancer :yahoo:

Has anyone else bought into any ships?

Perhaps we should start a list of who has what so we get a broad spectrum.

I have to say the Freelancer or 3001 appealed most to me.

BrotherTobious

I have the 300i, when you sign up there is a download of the hanger which you can run around and get in your ships etc it is very sexy looking!!!!

But thanks to TL I am eyeing up the Constellation

I'm only disappointed that this one is no longer available.

Hell, for that price I'd want the real thing

I'm always a little unhappy about buying my way into a game. I understand why the Devs are selling different specced ships but I still don't like the idea of a player just buying a kick ass ship right from the start. Their FAQ says they will be a subscription based game but that they will also allow micro payments, although everything you can buy can be earned in game. That's a little vague as in theory everything in BSGO that could be bought on a credit card could also be earned in game..... eventually! I know they're looking for funding so we're not just buying a game but supporting it's development. However £100+ is a bit rich for me so I'll probably go for the base ship or the 300i at a push.
