So one of the things missing is the possibility to send setups in game. So here is one for the Lotus 2 eleven. Good enough doing a 2 07 5 ...

Good racing yesterday, with some public guys too.  We had to reduce the server from 20 slots to 10 though.  We seemed to get some bad warping as soon as we crossed passed 10 players.  I'll investigate some more.  Might be to do with that setting called "USE_FLOW_CONTROL=1"

You will need to add a couple of clicks to the Cobra's Final Drive as Longford_67 has some monster straights.  It's a great track, particularly for testing the faster cars in AC also....have a go of the Pagani Huayra/Zonda or Mclaren Mp4-12c, Lotus 49 is great too.

Lameduck

Gave this a buzz today....absolute sh*** in the Cobra, but the Pagani Huayra was bleedin fantastic.
Hitting the main straight at 150mph plus and realising you still had another gear to select was awesome
and so was seeing the front air brakes/spoiler in operation.
I'd never heard of this track before, (well it is in Tasmania) and had difficulty reading it as there are so few obvious breaking points.
The Cobra was exactly as I thought it would be, a complete handful with a fishy tail but smooth acceleration.
Nice pick, Sean.:D

Seany

Yeah, it was new to me too.  Tasmania...shoulda known, they have all the best tracks in that part of the World :).   I think it was made for Rfactor originally.  I find the braking the hardest thing about the Cobra, more so than the power-on oversteer ( I think it should actually step out a bit more).  When you brake very hard, I find it has a tendency to start weaving across the road uncontrollably.

One new feature to be aware of that some might not yet have seen:
Make sure you have set the track grip to "Optimum" before you start a session, this will give you the track's true grip.  In the last Assetto update they added a feature that allows you to specify the quality of the tarmac, and if it's set lower than Optimum it makes the cars a right handful to drive, especially if you are not aware about this feature! (it has caught me out a couple of times, even when I was aware of it)

Yeah this is a nice evil combo - this car seems to have its own mind  I've tried to tame it a bit, but only moderate success:

See you on Monday, Bob :)

I've been playing around with settings all day (Thanks Neys) and have come to the conclusion that this car wouldn't brake in a straight line
even if it was on rails, between 2 brick walls and a roof. Diabolical.:ranting2:

Think I'll delete it and save some valuable disc space. Very nice to doodle round the countryside in, but race?

To quote Mr Samuel Goldwyn Meyer "Include me out".

Seany

I dunno, it's an old car, so I just brake more gently.  No point in tryna make it do what it can't.  Its like the GT historics mod for Rfactor, you just gotta adapt a bit for each car,  but once you do that they are grand.  Everyone is in the same car (boat :D ) too :)

Aquilifer

Both the track and car are kind of nice, but require bit polishing. The cobra has a bit odd feeling which makes me wonder is it realistic. The car is very understeery when slow. No matter how much you pump the throttle. And when you go fast on 4th gear the rear end becomes very loose. It only needs strong braking or bit turning and there we go.
