Dirt Rally

Hey guys,

Anybody tried Dirt Rally from Codemasters?

I bought this a few days ago on Steam.  It's still on early access, currently on version 0.41.

Boy what a game!!  I can't leave the damn thing alone.  Cost me £25 and an absolute bargain.

The modelling of the cars and graphics are just exquisite. No arcade driving experience here.  No rewind when you get it wrong, no restart or they punish you by taking in game cash away.  You just have to suck it up and get on with it

Reminds me of the early Codemasters games like Colin McRae rally series but better.  All this and the game isn't even complete.

Finally I am in as well, still newbie but having great fun. Only wish there was MP rally option instead of RX. Lancia Fulvia and Opel Kadet so far, looking forward to next group for BMW.

I dont have such fancy gadget as u do but I did check guides on steam and those helped me a lot. There are guides for various wheels, I am sure I saw yours somewhere. Also I do recommend this guy on youtube and his tutorials https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WlBntwsOdA

Thanks Main, I found lots of steam guides, everyone has a config that they like and it's different to the next guy. I'll try a few out and check out your video.

FYI, G27 second hand off Amazon market place, 100 quid.

Thanks Albert, thats a good price. I am just worried about second hand condition, you never know what you re gonna get with gear like this. I have Logitech Driving Force Pro which does everything the G27 does apart from H pattern and clutch pedal so I am good for the time being, but once it breaks I will go for yours. Well not yours exactly, dont worry

When I get home I will have a look for another guide I read somewhere about wheel settings, which could be better for you. In the meantime I recommend uninstalling the game because we will never beat this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xw8DJY7aZQ

You're totally correct, it's a risk. but the seller wrote 100% perfect working condition which gave me unlimited cause to complain if it wasn't on Marketplace and it's a UK version being sold in Germany so the price was low. Turned out (so far) only the box was in bad shape but it came packaged ridiculously well.The devices are as clean as new.

Wow, It's tough. I had to recover 5 times in my first test drive. It feels quite nice and responsive though, so no excuses, practice.

Yeah its fun isnt it. Quite demanding on arms if you do longer session Dont worry, you will be doing great times soon, when I started I think I spent more time in the woods then on the road

Finally managed to win first rally. Very hard work but so much fun
