Just a note to say that I have not forgotten, but getting an answer out of Jon has taken a while (I think he went on holiday during the delay).

Quote from: original email, 31st AugHi John

I was wondering if we could do something similar for this coming LAN as we did for last autumn's LAN?   We've run up a short list after an exhaustive tasting session at the Great British Beer Festival and came up with these ales of interest.

Cwtch 4.6% (Tiny Rebel Brewing)
Explorer 4.3%(Adnams)
Black Cherry Mild 4.2% (Kissinggate)

The above three are our priorities.   The below two ales are reserves or possibly a 4th keg as we have quite a lot of people coming to this LAN (we have 42 people booked for it, with 13 of these flying in from Europe for it!).  42 thirsty drinkers, 35 of whom arrive early for the Thursday night will go through a load of ale!

Best Bitter 3.8% ABV (Pheasantry) - Champion Bitter 2015
Jaguar 4.5% (Kelburn) - Champion Golden Ale 2015

Could you let me know what sort of price deal we can do here for these?  Perhaps the £1.50 per pint we aimed for last time?  We can look to sponsor some alongside anything you offer to maximise the number of kegs we can do for the dMw members.

I'll wait to hear from you.

NO SUPPLY
Cwtch & Explorer are 'no supply'
(limited run or sold out or now only available in bottles which means we lose the cost benefit)
Jaguar - no supply yet found

CONFIRMED
Black Cherry Mild - Penfold is picking up on Wed and delivering Thursday to LAN, will be ready for drinking by Friday evening (has to settle for 24 hours).  Just waiting for Jon Tufts to confirm this pick up is ok.
Best Bitter (Pheasantry) - keg confirmed for lan.

So, I'm 2 for 5 at the moment and feeling frustrated.   More work being put in, I'll update you once I get anywhere.

Right, sorted.  Finally got John on the phone and hammered out a deal.  We'll do three kegs: the OC will sponsor 1 keg, we'll sponsor 1 keg and we'll agree the third when we're there depending on how much our members have drunk & eaten!  I'm expecting I'll end up negotiating the third keg as either 50/50 or 100% sponsored by the OC.   Sponsoring a keg costs £60, so max outlay is £90 for 3 kegs of fun @ £1.50 per pint.   I'll volunteer to sponsor on behalf of the dMw Council.

Confirmed beers are:

MILD - Black Cherry Mild 4.2% (Kissingate) - Silver Medal, Speciality Beer Class, 2015 Great British beer Festival
BITTER - Best Bitter 3.8% (Pheasantry) - Champion Bitter 2015, 2015 Great British Beer Festival
GOLDEN ALE - Ghost Ship 4.5% (Adnams) - Gold Medal, Indie Beer Awards 2014, Silver Medal, 2014 International Beer Challenge

Thank you to Pen for picking up the the Black Cherry Mild on the Wed (and taking the empty keg back too!).
