Hello everyone me again

I am wondering about getting a new keyboard I have a basic keyboard at the mo and wondering if I get a. Gaming one would it be any better, I can't see how it would be better but maybe there something I am missing out .. Hopefully one of you experts know and can help me, thanks :)

There aren't many specific benefits a 'gamer' keyboard will bring, unless you really like macros.

Mechanical keyboards are great, but be prepared to pay a premium and it's wise to have a go on one before buying if you can - they are not to everyone's taste.

Corsair Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard

If you need programmable macro keys get the K95.

Whatever you get make it mechanical and not rubber dome keys.

I will also vouch for the K70, it's a lovely bit of kit :)

I can recommend the Razer Black Widow Chroma:

It's a bit on the expensive side but with the customisation of the individual key colours and the macro software, there are very few keyboards that are better in my opinion.

Okay I am still a noob to all This  PC gaming what's a marco ? Also I use the keyboard on my lap due to me having to play my PC in my room I know it's bad that I doubt have a desk I have had a long chat with  hIm about that lol but I do appreciate you all helping and replying thanks :)

Tut posted while I was composing. Good point, yes mechanical keys are more expensive but far better than domed IMHO. There are also a variety of types (colours i.e. red, brown, blue) that work in different ways. Red's are usually recommended for gaming, but each to their own.

So a lot of votes for the k70 so far haha and that about 120 pounds which I never thought a keyboard would go for but happy to pay if it's help and is better in a way

This video might explain things

TL:DR - buy a Corsair K70 or a K95 (programmable macro keys). The key type (colour) is a matter of personal preference.

Personally I go for the cherry red keys as they require just a feather touch to activate making gaming faster on them and typing lots of text is low impact on your fingers.

Typing lots of text seems harder when you start as there is no indication when the key has 'triggered'. After a little while you do get used to no longer having to thump each key as you type and can almost just brush the keys to activate them. Obviously for gaming having a much lighter key means it can be activated very quickly and you can click a second key even before your first keystroke is complete. This means you can be much faster with key presses and in theory better at gaming. I've moved from a really terrible gamer up to a just rubbish gamer simply by buying a cherry red keyboard and a Razer Deathadder mouse.

 :D

A Corsair K70 review, it really is an outstanding keyboard. Buy it here  http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/content.php?191-dmw-amazon-shop :flirty:
