you assume I'm insane enough to ever be on the same ship as you. Nah. It'll be a blast :)

You missed off the role of 1st Technician... Someone needs to be in charge of fixing the vending machines for Chicken Soup.

I have a pipe cleaner.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Ah, but do you have a 14B, the 14B and the 14F look very similar.

RogueTaylor

Now excuse me for blowing off the dust to this old thread, I am curious to see if this is all still the same ? Or would we being looking at going over this again ? I know it might be stupid to talk about but there is some what more of a game ( only taken 5 years XD that’s a lot of dust on this tread ). As things come along a bit more in the game I am curious to see if things are still going to be the same ? Don’t get me wrong the whole idea and the work that went into what is done is great.

smilodon

Yep it does need a rethink as it's a fair bit out of date. I don't even own the game any more after my refund, so shouldn't really be listed as the CEO and board member etc.
smilodon
Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Chaosphere

Is there much point in making any sort of structure prior to actual persistence?

I mean, we could, but then in 2025 will RogueTaylor be posting here asking about a restructure now the game has the long promised Fish'n'Chip shops? :roflmao:

I joke but you get the point. :D
All our Gods have abandoned us.

RogueTaylor

Ah okay then smilo XD that’s very true.

Indeed chaos but was curious to see if this was still the structure, I am not expecting people to sort it out now. Just wanted to see what the higher up thought about it and if we was still sticking with it. After all our CEO has left us now. I know we get years before the game comes out XD I thought it was a burger shop they was adding to the game, god damm I have been practising my flipping skills in game.

Love is the one thing that transcends time and space.

Galatoni

Probably does need a discussion regarding any restructuring. But honestly, just light the fires and let people know it's gaining some momentum at last.

I totally agree with Gal, light the fires and rally the troops. The game is well and truly playable as a Community, and there are plenty large Orgs out there willing to team up.

I'd like to see some formal plan put together to move us from being a small group doing random things to a semblence of order.

We have Community Admins for this stuff don't we? Maybe give 'em some authority and us average joes can have a purpose.

Personally I don't see any issue with the active users pushing the game in the community and if appropriate establishing more of an active presence for dMw out in the wider 'universe'. I would agree that this is a perfect task to be helmed by the community admins. There is no reason why other keen members can't help out, of course.

I do think its worth involving those mentioned at the start of this thread, apart from smilo as we have established he's no longer on the star citizen boat. Its also important that dealings with communities outside of dMw are in line with our ethos and ideally reported back to this forum so that council and the rest of the community admin team are at least aware of what is going on.

So, if any of the community admins would be keen to get involved and promote the game,  in or outside of dMw,  why don't you send me a PM or reply here and we can chat a bit more about it and get the ball rolling.

I'll note that the forum chatter so far is, at least in my opinion, all beneficial as it certainly raises awareness of the game in dMw. I often see people in the discord now, and I'm even considering an install again myself despite my aforementioned concerns... so yes, keep up the chit chat and tales of your exploits, it may draw others in too!

I think because it's a game that will require some intercommunity interaction, then it is best to have one of the Admins who are engaged in the game leading the charge, following our original idea of having a PR Director. Making the wrong choice could make us very unpopular, or get us on the wrong side by mistake.

Those who perform critical roles deserve support, we wouldn't want you turning up at conference to negotiate an alliance in a Reclaimer, so we find your something more suitable to fly. Or take a Sparko Uber.

I personally would love to see dMw establish as a reliable and friendly org keeping the basics of our original vision in tact. Trade, commerce, exploration and working as a team to our partners.

I feel SC is now at the point where Elite was about 6 months before going Beta, when I really started getting interested and could see that there would be enough fun activities to get involved with but also this is when the ships and the components of the game that will change to their final form, get attention.

So for example in 3.10, you should find flying a ship a bit tougher than 3.9 because they are concentrating on making each ship more like their original vision in terms of flight and handling. being in 3.9 lets to learn the ropes, then 3.10 you can use the basics to get better at flying.

I would encourage anyone who wants to try to do so and I can drop them some cash to pimp their ship. The trading for short hops is bringing a decent profit now with little instability IF (big IF) you learn the no go actions in game. Be patient at consoles, don't use your 4000dpi mouse and spin around until the graphics driver borks out, etc. Just a few known life quality issues. Any discounnect that lets you reconnect will work if you keep trying. Just ask one of the regulars for a few tips.
Cheers, Bert
