Somehow, whilst everyone was wrapping presents and eating mince pies, the DMW Fleet grew a little.

Congratulations DMW fleet members, we have 58 members and 211 ships (and that doesn't include the ships from those 9 members who have yet to fill out the fleet tool with details of what is parked in their hangar).

That's quite an impressive fleet! :worship:

Keep in mind they will effectively be more expensive from 1st Jan once RSI rebase the £:$:â,¬ exchange rates they use.   Backing before 1st January should give you better value (assuming you back in â,¬ not £ or $).

Having a large fleet is always great. Having a well rounded fleet helps even more. But regardless of your fleet numbers or what ships they comprise of its the members gaming time and coordination that will really count. I came from a fleet that gave the core 40 players a total of 220 ships, this included 5 Javelins and 8 Idris. (@ the time of my leaving) Every meaningful org in SC has around a 4:1 ratio, some slightly more, some slightly less.

What makes an org different is how they use the ships at there disposal. And I believe this is how DMW will standout, as members here have a long history of gaming together and coordinating in a gaming environment. This speaks a lot more to me rather than ship numbers.

But I won't lie, 200+ does sound a nice solid figure. :D Congrats all!

Looking at the fleet, there's very little that we don't have and there are a massive number of coop ships that suit our general size.   I'm looking forward to some cracking nights of coop action, be it in a larger op, or a smaller scale mining mission or just a leisurely jaunt into the dark yonder to see what is out there.

It makes you wonder doesn't it.  With a minimum crew size of 23 for a Javelin, they'll not be leaving the spaceport very often! :roflmao:

have to use one javelin and then support it with others ships while the other 4 just sit there and look pretty and that's if you get 23 out of the 40 players on at one time

RogueTaylor

we will definitely need a night for star citizen so we can all get on and  do larger operations, to work with all the players we have in this game so far is going to be AMAZING. our fleet is good and strong and like you said we got 200 ships and how many of them can have more then one person in them at a time or require more then one person to run them

TeaLeaf

That's part of the purpose for appointing these roles, so that some planning and coordination can go on both within the game and in conjunction with other game leaders.

One quick one that I need your option on should I upgrade  the Constellation Aquila
Ship to the carrack ?

I think the answer to this one is the same as for most 'should I' questions.

Firstly, we're backing a game.  You can buy a Carrack with in-game money, no purchase now is necessary.
Secondly, if you want to back the game, what do *you* want to do?  The right answer for me, might be the wrong answer for you, so the choice is all about you and what you hope to enjoy in the PU.

The Constellation is probably a little more flexible and will be cheaper to outfit, re-purpose and run than the Carrack.  I think it will be a much loved and used ship because it can do so many things well.

The Carrack is literally more than twice the size of the Connie, and it is purposed for a pretty specific set of exploration tasks, so you'll find it more expensive to re-purpose to a different task than the Connie.   Probably, for a pure exploration role, you'd pick the Carrack if you had the big budget to run it.   But the Connie might get the job done at a fraction of the cost and with less crew.

We also have more Carracks in the fleet at the moment than Connies.

So, my answer is not much help, but it is down to you and your own preferences.   At the end of the day it is your money and your decision as to if you back the game and if yes, then how you back the game.
