Upgrading laptop

[Deminion]

Have gotten my hands on a older laptop, a Lifebook A-series A-530 from Fujitsu. As it stands, it needs a new keyboard, so i started thinking about giving it an upgrade of mobo, cpu and ram.
Does anybody have experience in that?
Is it worth the hassle? in question price on parts vs. a decent prebuild new machine.

Is it worth the hassle?

No it's not.  You're practically building a new machine, plus its a laptop..  Wouldn't suggest any form of upgrade apart from ram and ssd in one.

If it was to replace a broken keyboard then fine but I agree too much hassle and very expensive. Unless your bored and want a challenge.

I'd have to agree with Gorion & Toby.   I reckon it will be more hassle and cost than it's worth.   Plug in a normal keyboard and install linux on it for some fun instead.
