oldie and i found an earth type planet last night, 23c, no suit warnings and if you stand still you stop using o2, was nice not having to run around collecting suit materials. Doesnt seem to be anything there that would suggest a dangerous environment. too good to be true? probably has mutant death worms with friggin lasers  or something

finally found myself a nice planet, perfect for wandering around on - then it started to rain, super high temperature rain, boil you in your suit type rain, sigh.

I think I was there last night as well. Looked delightful and then I was nearly boiled alive in my suit !!!

Freighter is back from her mission. I went to visit my Captain and he's also a metal head like me.

I sent my little freighter off on a mission yesterday, got a report back that it had been attacked & damaged & needed to come back for repair, fair enough, back it came.... & I'm pretty sure it warped back inside a planet! I must've flown around the planet about 5 times trying to find the damn thing for it to still show as being on the other side to me. Bet Picard never had this kinda crap.

Hey all! I'm liking the look of the new resurrected NMS ! What's the aim of the game and what do you do? I've seen all those s****y big ships is that something you make yourself or do you progress towards them ?

I might pick it up so maybe I'll see a few of you round !?

It's a little like Minecraft in space with extras. You can explore, trade or fight. You could just catalogue worlds with their plants and animals. You could set up trade routes and buy low and sell high. Basically do what you like. There is technology to discover, languages to learn or you could search to rediscover your personal history (there is a vague story arc in the game. Basically anything you like. There's no rush to do anything really. I just log in and see what I find to do. It's different each time.

As an example: at the moment I'm repairing a new space ship.

 I found a transmission tower on a planet -
 which sent me to a distress beacon -
 which revealed a crashed and damaged ship -
which was a fair bit better than mine.

I mined a little copper and suchlike, set up a refinery machine and built the spare parts. These spares allowed me to get the ship off the ground, into space and back to my freighter. Now I'm going out and finding the resources so I can patch it up properly. I.e. fix cargo space, repair laser guns etc.
