Elite: Horizons - Beta 2.2 Released

Hi All,

Frontier released the beta of it's latest major update to Horizons for Elite Dangerous. It adds a whole heap of new content, improvements, ships, ship delivery, shortly storage of resources etc.

Some things I am excited to try:

Fighters, actual ships you can launch from certain larger craft to fight with you, after hiring NPCs to either pilot the fighter or pilot your main ship whilst your fight, and it lets you give order to the NPCs.

Surface features - new geological features and persistent objects - meaning hopefully some character to planets.

Wings - Exploration rewards awarded to the whole wing.

LOLOLOL - Removed Eject All Cargo binding everywhere. Finally, why it was there I fail to comprehend.

Outfitting - preview items whilst hovering over them

Passengers - not sure about this but it's significant or maybe a lot of things that are not so visible in game..... be a bus!

VR - Latest runtime and loads of improvements to what was already the best VR game setup out there. It basically now takes advantage of the new cards capabilities.

I've not managed to get to a station and pickup a ship big enough to put a fighter into it yet. I was buzzing around on a few planet surfaces and just generally doing nothing much. Problem was they started teh beta with my save being 450LY from anywhere even though I was there like 2 days before. I checked and my live game is still back in the middle of the bubble where I expected to be.
