Awesome, I couldn't check yesterday.

We need all hands on deck if possible, wing up and fly safe!

Check UDP 5100 forwards to your PC so wings work correctly! Even if you use upnp I suggest also adding a manual forwarder just to be safe.

Good to hear mate, we were rather concerned for you after this happened last night. I think a ship with more affordable insurance or do a quick ruins run or 2 would be a good idea as you say.

We are now the controlling faction at one of the surface bases in Zeta Trianguli Australis! Congrats to all who helped in this endevour!

Brackett Prospect: https://eddb.io/station/42900 (web page data is wrong!, ZTA Corp is not the faction any more!)

If you have combat bonds, DO NOT! hand them into any station other than one that is owned by us (Brackett) or one owned by ZTA Corp (as we will degrade their influence) Hartlib Barracks (yes 200K Ls away with no repair. but fly there, cash in your combat bonds and jump out of Zeta and back in please!). Do not hand bounty vouchers/ or trade into Guest City or any other station other than Brackett, as this will only help the ZTA Prog Party (controlling party gets all the influence from anyone using their station) . After the Civil War we should be very close to the ZTA Progs in terms of influence if we stick to this plan!

So to summarize, if you want to increase dMw influence in ZTA overall (and not benefit the ZTA Prog Party), cash in your bounties, trade in and out of and pick up dMw missions from Brackett Prospect. also only pick up missions from the dMw contact in other stations. Cash in Combat bonds at Hartlib Barracks whilst the Civil War is on!

Ping me if this isn't clear enough (it's complicated, I know!).

We won the war, 21.7% to 3.8% now and ZTA Progs are 32%. We should now focus our efforts on getting the dominant position in the sector!
(At least the System Maps says so but the right screen doesn't yet, not sure if there are still warzones out there!)

Increase dMw influence in ZTA overall (and not benefit the ZTA Prog Party), cash in your bounties, trade in and out of and pick up dMw missions from Brackett Prospect.
Take only dMw missions from Guest City and only cash in ZTA Prog bounties there. Other bounties as I say Brackett only.

since we have control of Brackett Prospect, we can really start getting more influence as the main station owner gain a lot from anything handed in.

An update to our Alliance growth effort.

Last night we were only 0.9% behind the ZTA Progs for overall dominance in the Sector of Zeta Trianguli Australis.

This I believe was as a result of a number of factors:

1) Important, teamwork and continuing to push after the Civil War ended.
2) Brackett Prospect - Owning a station accelerates influence dramatically because:
3) Cashing in Bounties gives extra influence;
4) Cashing in combat bonds gives extra influence;
5) Handing in exploration data there gives extra influence;
5) Trading with the station gives extra influence
6) Fighting in ZTA now we have a station means we can cash in the earnings without positively impacting the ZTA Progs

So a couple of guidelines for those trying to understand this all:

1) Take dMw missions ONLY from any station in ZTA. Ignore all others. (Be careful to not just take the top on the list as it's normally not dMw!)
2) Only hand in combat and bounty vouchers in Brackett Prospect
3) Do not kill dMw Alliance Wanted AI, it will negatively effect your rep with the faction
4) Hand in your exploration data to Brackett Prospect as it will also boost the faction and your rep within the faction
5) If you notice a state change or pending change, write up in this post so others are notified, as it might change our strategy. (Or PM me)

Great job all!
Cheers, Bert

This all sounds rather interesting and exciting!  Not actually having played Elite though, the commentary would be greatly enhanced if there were a few screen shots of the game, e.g. infuence maps (if there are such things!), killboard stats, etc.  These just might make me excited enough to dust off my copy of the game and venture in.

Just suck it up and play it already! You can't be any worse than me :D

Good points. It's certainly more exciting when we have a decent number of players who understand their goals and tasks well enough to achieve them.

There are 2 system influence engines in Elite.

Power Play where Leaders of Powers struggle for dominance of populated space - players can join a power and actively contribute towards actions like expansion, preparation, consolidation etc. All powers have their own way of achieving their dominance, like battle, trading, propaganda. So this is the active power faction system that you can join as a player and become hostile to other powers' ships. The reward is a salary from the power, special items that can be acquired whilst you are loyal to them after a set time period. As seen from the Power Play Map with each power depicted by a colour.

System Minor Factions - dMw applied to have our name as minor faction in the game. You cannot join a minor faction but your actions can help determine the influence of the minor faction. This is what we've been working on. It's more passive and less likely to be spotted by other players and countered. This is more rewarding because we can actively see our supported faction increase in influence and the reward is purely gaining influence and teamplay. When we work together we change the status of each faction in a system. The goal is to increase your rep with your chosen faction so that they trust you enough to give you Allied level missions for bigger rewards, bigger rewards means completing the mission also gains the faction more influence in the sector, leading to a change in state from No state, Boom, bust, Outbreak, Famine, War, Civil War. We just went through a civil war with another faction with similar influence to us, but we rallied and won a lot of influence in the process and gained an outpost. As seen from the system Map.

So the results are in:
Dead Men Walking Alliance: 32.6% State: Boom
Progressive Party of Zeta Trianguli Australis 26.7% State: None

then it reverted back the next time I opened the System Map

I suspect this will change soon.

In Boom we double our trade influence and double the faction influence for trading. We lose influence for piracy.

So Trade only with Brackett Prospect and do legal missions (no killing or stealing)!

If we do this quickly we can get to election then Civil War again I think.

Well, its good to be back. Got my Python smashed a bit last night, but didn't lose the ship. Clearly I'm very rusty on the whole combat thing.

Anyway, hope to log some time on Sunday, so fly the Corvette over to Zeta and kick some non-DMW factions to the kerb!

Eep

Hay all. I thought I'd let you guys know that I'm working on increasing the DMW presence in the Xbox one version of Ellie Dangerous. I believe the PC and xbone instances are alike but not linked for cross platform play but I'm interested in seeing if/how Xbox universe gains affect the PC universe!
I've only just reached the system but can say that the DMW alliance are in control at the planetary base and have a presence at Guest City.
I'm in the U.S. now so you folks are either in bed or very sleepy when I sit down to play but I'll keep you posted if anything interesting happens. Also if you pay on the xbone let me know and I'll see if I can add you. Dunno if there's a EU/US instance of the universe either......

Nice job Eep! We believe that we'll be in Election state by the time 2.3 is stable so that means combat doesn't contribute to our influence, only missions for delivery (data and commodities from the dMw Alliance in any station where we're present) and trade with Bracket Prospect.
