Quote from: RSIToday, we’re excited to offer our Concierge, Subscribers, and Wave One PTU backers entry to the Alpha 3.2 build of Star Citizen’s Persistent Test Universe (PTU).

This update introduces several new features, including scanning, mining, improvements to quantum travel, and a new grouping system.

There are four new ships: the Origin Jumpworks 600i Explorer, the Aegis Eclipse, the Anvil Hurricane, and the Vanduul Blade. Not to be outdone, you’ll also find sweeping revisions to the entire Avenger line from Aegis Dynamics!
Ooooh, time to download and test again!

No good for me unless there's been some optimisation.

I've budgeted for a new PC but I'm holding back on buying a new machine until I really have to which, in essence, will be when we are playing as a group.

I hope it is more stable. I feel the performance is already fine for a mid range mobo/cpu/ram with a high end gfx card.

Yeah, I've seen a big improvement in going from 1-3fps to quite playable, at least so far.  It still wants more RAM though :roflmao:

What did your fps reach TL?

Admittedly I ave a low spec pc (I7 2660, 16GB Ram, GTX 1070 (16gb) running off a SSD) I've seen a FPS increase from 12-14 to 24-26.

Do yo think getting extra RAM would help FPS count?

Not really, that fps count pretty much matches what 1 1070 will get right now. I have 32GB and a 1080Ti and only get 37fps, thats on 4K or 1440p, makes no difference. So you're 1070 will work fine later and if 24-26 isn't fluctuation much and feels smooth then I think it's pretty much as good as 30+.

I'm on 16gbof Ram only 12gb is available, and by the time I'm running SC it still tells me that it needs at least 8gb and I've got 7.8gb so frankly, I'd love more ram rofl!

I thought I'd even include pics since it sounds pretty crazy reading it back to myself :roflmao:

and upon launching SC:

So yeah, there you have it lol

You running 4GB RAM drive emulation or something? Or just have like 100 Chrome tabs open and other stuff you don't need to run? That's crazy, 8GB I thought would be the max of any game around but if they're using 8GB now can it only get worse?

If you have 4 x 4GB sticks then I would re-seat them. One of them isn't happy.

I have tried this Oldie with no success, it's such a pain, I've read on a forum that bent CPU pins can cause it, for whatever reason, and I've indeed had to straighten the pins once in their life when I dropped the CPU! :(

Well I only have 8 from the word go! Looks like it's nearly time for an upgrade :roflmao:

I read on Star Citizen UK Facebook site about a guy who has the following setup: 7700k/16gb ram/gtx 1080 off of a hard drive at 1440p ultra. He's averaging 45fps+ and getting to 60fps (with gsync so might be a bit false).

Given even at 1440p I can only get a max of 37-38fps I can only conclude that his 7700k CPU is making the difference or DDR4 vs my DDR3 but my latency on DDR3 is far better and the clock rate is still pretty darn good.

Have you tried booting from a pair of sticks? I often see the problem with lower usable figures than fitted and it's always the memory stick. Sometime putting it in a different slot works too. Try pairing them up in different combos/slots to eliminate a possible suspect.

When I researched CPUs for my new rig the 7700K is still right up there in terms of gaming benchmarks.
