I'd wager you got the RGB version too, right? :flirty:

so while my collection might not be as expensive as one of the watches posted here they all have sentimental value, this is all of them together, and unless specified all are in full working order and just need a battery/strap

this next picture is all the watches i had before i "joined up",
the bottom left is an 1986 thermometer watch in full working order. It was my second ever watch, my dad accidentally binned my first.
bottom is the 1st watch i bought in 1989, it was colorful and i thought cool and girls actually liked it..no really(remember global hyper color t shirts were around this time)
the five behind are various work watches, with the top right watch being one of the first fitness watches with stride length and a loud beep for cadence.

the next bunch are when i joined up and went to sunny bosnia in 1996
the first watch on the left  is a Timex data-link, bought on an american base in sunny Sarajevo. You put data into a programe, aimed the watch at the screen and it uploaded calender's, phone numbers, etc
the 2nd watch was "omfg i survived and have loads of money" watch..well £200 was in 1996, lovely alarm on it as well, like bells
the 3rd watch was bought to me the same day by my then 6ft blonde dutch girlfriend....hmm  good times.

the next pis is when i grew up slightly

the left watch is a blue angels citizen navihawk, bought by the wife as an engagement present in 2001, still worn occasionally
the middle watch was bought the day before my first Iraq tour, and seen a lot of desert and a lot of other things, yes it is slightly sun bleached, isnt water tight any more due to a jeweler cross threading a screw, but it still works, though requires 2 batteries!!!
the right watch was a little treat on my last day in Vegas courtesy of her Maj. nothing special about it 200m water resist, oh and the brightest LED light that i have ever seen in a watch. when my light bulb went in the garage i was able to use it as a torch!!

The next 3 are when i was paid a little better as combined they cost me £1100
the one on the left is a solar powered Seiko chronograph, has a nice bell alarm, but the worst strap ever.
the middle is a solar powered Citizen watch that i bought for my 40th birthday, cause i liked the look of it
the one on the right is a gorgeous watch i bought when we sold our house in Ireland, I saw it in a shop but it had gone by the next day, thank god for the watch shop and the fact they keep larger stocks. this has a nice party trick where the light is uv and all the hands etc light up different colors, i know TL will approve as he like edifices, still worn

the final 3 are my current everyday watches

the one of the left was so loud i had to buy it...
the middle one was bought for me in 2016 as a replacement for my battered Iraq watch
And the Garmin forerunner was bought the day before my back decided to implode and I haven't been able to use it for circuits yet, but it is used every day for logging cycling to work, steps, etc

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Sn00ks

My phone has a clock so I stopped wearing a watch.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I wish I enjoyed wearing watches, I seem to buy them and wear them once and never again. Great pictures Sulky

Just catching up on threads.

Love your post Sulks. Great collection of watches and nice back stories for each.

Makes me want to go digging into drawers to find my old watches going back over the years.

What cases are you using the store them?

Quote from: main;433157No worries Pen, I used to live in the UK for quite some time. I was when I joined DMW, god time flies :) That would be amazing, I am after the full silver ones GMW-B5000D-1ER, as long as it has the regular international warranty, you know official dealer etc. What are you favorite watches? I also have Seiko Black Monster which I am very keen on and some other Gshocks. But my wishlist is endless oO

I've had no luck I'm afraid and have tried all the resources I can.  It's now commanding serious premiums on the second hand market which is an indication of its scarcity.

I use one of these mens model Stackers things for watches and bought a second shelf.

I only have one watch. But according to the bloke in the pub I bought it off it does have an interesting history.

The Timix (pronounced Tim-icks) Ultra Grand Complication 1001. Made in June 1960 by Hans Walsdorf, the co founder of the Rolex Watch Company, as he lay on his deathbed. This is the last watch he ever made. At 79 years of age Hans was no longer directly involved in the running of Rolex and therefore this watch does not carry the Rolex brand name. It is believed the Timix name derives from the name of Hans Walsdorf favourite pet parrot Timix Aphrodite.

The watch casing was made from a single piece of Osmium, the worlds rarest metal, which was taken from the diogenite Tatahouine meteorite that fell to earth in June 27, 1931 at Foum Tatahouine, Tunisia. The meteorite killed eight people when it fell including the then famous actress Alma Reubins who was on the island filming the Hollywood film "She Goes to War". A tiny fragment of her skull can be seen embedded in the watch face within the number 11. It is believed Hans Walsdorf was an avid fan of Ms Reubins. When he saw the fragment within the piece of osmium alloy he was using to make the watch casing he decided to leave the fragment in place.

The strap is a piece of leather cut from the body of the last known wild Northern White Rhino, a 2 year old juvenile named Lucky. It was shot in 1950 by Ernest Hemingway.

With independent complications for

self winding mechanism
fly-back chronography
10,000 year perpetual calendar
hour repeater
Hour hand
Minute had
Second hand
Alarm

the watch has 1001 individual parts hence its name.

There is also believed to be a single complication that will chime on a specific but unknown  future date. This mystery date was gleaned by Hans Wilsdorf from the notes of his co founder at Rolex, Alfred Davis. Davis was a collector of esoteric writings and claimed to have an original copy of the poem Prose Edda. This poem written in the 13th Century by Snorri Sturluson was based on earlier texts that predicted the date of the Norse Apocalypse Ragnarok. Wilsdorf built this date into the watch out of respect for his friend and co founder. The complication within the watch is so complex that the date for Ragnarok cannot be learnt from it's movement. However the watch will chime the tune to Nat King Coles - Mona Lisa one hour before the end of the world. So that's nice.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Well that is life, thanks for trying Pen, much appreciated, if you keep an eye for some random luck opportunity I would be very grateful. Thank you

Nice.  You must have better eye sight than me, even with glasses I struggle to read info on dials like that.  Looks real smart though! :)

Katie bought me a new watch (actually a first watch that other one I posted really was just a £4 cheapy I would never wear) and it is absolutely beautiful! Check it out!

.
It's basically to say good luck with the new job etc, and she's had it engraved! The engraving reads:

"When life throws you lemons / Choke them. K"

I don't know anything about watches, but that's a great, and appropriate inscription for you two!
