How to book your place at LAN XXXV -

• Call the Oliver Cromwell Hotel - 01354 602890 - book a room, mentioning that you are booking for the dMw LAN to get the reduced rates (see below).
  
• Complete THIS FORM. [/SIZE]Without this form, you have NOT booked your place at the LAN. If we fill up, someone could still steal your spot if they get this in before you!

With your room booked and the booking form completed, you have booked your room! I will add you to the list below!

A few of us are planning to get to the LAN on Wednesday night. Anyone is welcome to join us! This is a SOCIAL ONLY evening, with absolutely no gaming involved. The LAN room will NOT be available until we have set it up on Thursday morning. The LAN itself will start on Thursday afternoon.


The Booking Form
The idea here is to gather as much information as possible, as early as possible. Hopefully this cuts down on the number of forum threads needing to be checked and orders chased up in the build up to the LAN.

Although the form is required to book your gaming place, you do NOT need to answer every question now if you don't want to - there is an option for 'Not sure yet' on the food sign up. Furthermore, it will still be possible to change orders if you change your mind down the road, just drop one of the LAN admins a line!

The more information we get at sign-up the better, but don't worry at all if you don't know what you want yet. We will chase you down in due time


The LAN
We hope to make it a great weekend for all. Kick off is Thursday afternoon, but don't fret if you can't make it til later! There is stuff going on all weekend.

The Oliver Cromwell Hotel offers:
The Noble Suite - an air conditioned conference room
24/7 access to the suite
dMw control of entry to the suite
Late night bar
Gymnasium
Large indoor swimming pool
Eight-person Jacuzzi
Sauna and Steam room


Room Costs
The hotel offers us the following reduced rates for the LAN -
Double room - £50 per night.
Twin room - £66 per night - this works out as £33 EACH when you share with a mate!


dMw Costs:
LAN ATTENDEES
Supporting Member:- £10 (this has not changed)
Non-Supporting Member:- £25 (this includes an automatic upgrade to Supporting Member status for one year)

SOCIAL ATTENDEES
Supporting Member:- £0 (this has not changed)
Non-Supporting Member:- £12 (this includes an automatic upgrade to Supporting Member status for one year)


Travel:- we will do our best to arrange pick up and drop off from the major London airports. If you find yourself stuck or simply want to share a lift, post in the travel plans thread.

Gear:- there will be a packing thread posted soon. The basics are some sort of PC and monitor, with peripherals including headphones - speakers are a no no. If you're desperate to game but can't get a PC to the LAN, ask around, we have in the past been able to source PCs from generous members of the community willing to lend - in exchange for a beer or 3 of course :norty:

Seating:- seating details will be released closer to the event.


Please note that we have now included the LAN Disclaimer into the booking form. If you have any questions about this, please get in touch. You have not secured your LAN place until you have accepted the Disclaimer and completed the rest of the booking form it is attached to.

Gaming capacity at LAN XXXV is 48 members. If you book after this point, you will be added to a waiting list and given a slot if one frees up! There is no limit for social attendees!

A quick post about the Wednesday. Phoning the hotel today they said they have a fishing group staying there on the Wednesday and leaving Thursday. So they have taken up a good amount of rooms. There are no twins for the Wednesday and not sure how many rooms in total that are free but know that a good few have been taken so might want to get them Wednesday bookings in a bit quicker. This shouldn’t effect Thursday as they will be gone by then

It's exactly the same disclaimer which you filled out and signed in hard copy last October. 11th October to be precise. :doh: :flirty:

A digital version saves us having to manually work out who has or hasn't signed one. It's nothing more than to protect the community and its leaders from liability should, say, your gear get damaged or stolen or if you trip over a lead on the floor and decide you want to sue us.

Yeah, they mentioned they only had a few left. I think they may all even be gone now, in which case you'd have to book a double for Wednesday and move over to a twin on Thursday (I did this in October). As Wednesday is not part of the LAN, but rather just a social extension, we won't ask the hotel to block out any rooms for the Wednesday.

As you have said, doesn't affect Thursday, and there is always a way around it if you do want to show up on the Wednesday . I'll update the list in a bit. Cheers guys!

Although great to hear you want to join us again Tags, I've had to put this on hold as you currently are not a supporting member (it lapses after 1 year). You'll either have to sign up as a supporting member now via the forum (https://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/content.php?194-Donate) or wait a week until booking opens for non-supporting members.

Signing up online makes it a tad easier IMO, as the payment can be set to recur until you cancel it. At £12 a year it is also slightly cheaper than the £15 we charge for the equivalent membership at the LAN itself. Set it up like this and you shouldn't have to worry about it lapsing!

Btw I am aware Tags can't see this post right now, as I have moved it into the supporting members area! I've let him know directly, and am just posting here as a reminder that the first week of booking is for supporting members only.

Is there a place we can look to see when our supporting members expires? No idea when I signed up.

Yep! If you click on your username and select the 'Awards' tab, it will show you when the membership was 'given', and thus when you paid.

Please note that if you set it up online you may already have a recurring payment in place with PayPal. Try not to end up setting up two!

And Tags has completed his Supporting Member sign up (there is a small delay with it updating on the forum), so I've added him to the list! :yahoo: Thanks mate, will be great to see you again!
