Hi everyone!
Since upgrading my CPU I've been able to sink my teeth into SC and have found it to be an incredible experience, It's hardware issues I was facing the most and now that I've upgraded I've actually enjoyed myself a huge amount.

The current version 3.6.2 has a huge amount of stuff to do etc, however persistence still doesn't exist within the game.
There is a landing mechanic called hover mode which is already scheduled for deletion from the game by the next patch, ITS THAT BAD. It sees your ship entering some horrid helicopter control scheme the second you get near ground say for instance trying to land.

The AI police are the most surprising and most entertaining part of my play through recently, they dropped me out of Quantum Travel, scanned my ship, found that I was carrying drugs (I didn't know) and we entered into a dog fight that saw me getting shredded to a million pieces.

There is an event happening soon or now, that requires people to play through the pirate swarm game mode in arena commander to unlock access to a fancy new ship, I'd love to give this a go with anyone keen to find out how difficult the game is going to be.
Arena Commander is much kinder on your hardware than the "notpersistentpersistent universe" so if you'd like to give it a go, bump me on discord and I'd be happy to group up.

There's a huge amount to see in the game and is always interesting to walk around, and if you haven't seen ArcCorp the planet sized city etc it's worth having a look too since the train system and other features really look and feel incredible.

There are bugs, bugs that will frustrate you, bugs that will make you laugh and bugs that will make you cry, my worst currently is hover mode making it impossible to land without smashing off a section of your ship in some Russian roulette landing manoeuvre, which if it kills you means you spawn all the way back to your original set off point, not where you just travelled millions (literally) of km to be.

I hope this keeps a couple ears pricked for news on SC.
3.7 has a really interesting feature set, but unless I'm missing something, I don't see actual persistence in the features list, so that might still be a way off...

I tend to play the releases and liked doing a few missions.

But hover mode stopped me playing, in its latest release it's overly sensitive and sends you spinning off into structures or the ground, in its first iteration it took you minutes to land as vertical thrust in a Reliant was a few feet a minute.

The first release of the police had the ED209 bug, they stopped you for search and told you to halt. So you halt, "Warning stop now or we will open fire", Erm.... I'm stopped, "right this is your final warning", do I need to take the keys out or open a window?, "That's it your going down", wait, what, Boom!

Once they ditch Hover Mode I'll be back in again.

Hover mode has ruined this release for me. Crashing bugs and things aside the game is castle improved (read: still quite rough). There is a fair amount to do - but hover mode take away from that.

From what to what? I presently use an i4670k clocked @ 4.2Ghz w a Vega64 LC.
My SC experience has always blown chunks.
