Posting this from my server as my PC has gone to the great toilet in the sky. There are 6 overheated capacitors with nice bulging tops. No, I wasn't overclocking, this is typical ABIT!!! Seemingly, the motherboard I have has a known problem with caps blowing as ABIT allegedly got a bad batch. Anyway it is 2 years old so out of warranty. Thank god I backed up my stuff 2 nights ago.

Net result, one fried mobo, one knackered DVD drive (dunno what the mobo did to it but it died at the same time - tried it in another PC and nothing) and one Credit Card sitting in the corner weeping softly.

Oh well, roll on next week - new mobo, P4 2.53 GHz, 1 Gb PC2100 and a Zalman Flower on its way. PS the mobo aint ABIT!

I'll see you all on MH once I have reinstalled everything!!!!

my thoughts exactly (and my cunning plan).....if mrs blueballs' anything like mine, she'll know exactly what your up to but won't let on.....she'll just make you feel guilty about it for several months....are we that transparent?
