For the people who decided they wanted to have it in the box.

Install the game to it's natural location.
Play/start the game then close/shut it down.
On steam startup icon, select games and double click the CZ option (this should be in "Available games" rather than the normal section.
Steam will request a verification code which will be sent to your log-in e-mail address.
Once you have entered the code you will go through the purchase of CZ but instead buying the game select the option "I already own this game".
Enter the ID key (on the cover of CZ manual)
Steam will then go through the same process which happened to 1.5 by copying all the CZ files into the steam folder.
Copy your Config.cfg, userconfig.cfg and tempdecal.wad from the cs folder to your CZ folder.
Start the game through steam and it will then spend the next 2 hours updating  :D

Hope this helps.

Ive done all that...

I can play offline by starting the game from windows explorer...the desktop icon starts steam and tries to connect but tries to launch HL not cz. and comes up with game unavailable every time.
if I try to start any game through steam "games", it comes up with game unavailable again.
the only game I can play is CS...I start in steam "favourites"
puzzled

smite

Delete the icon on your desktop.
Create a new one from steam, games.
It is still downloading right click CZ (in steam) and go to properties this will show you the download state.

Blunt

cheers smite....you're right :D
