QuoteJust noticed that windows update has an updated driver foor Nvidia (30.87 as opposed to 30.82)

Being a 'latest drivers' hound, my ears pricked up at this. So off I went helter skelter to Update.  Nahda! Nothing! Zilch!. Went to Nvidia's site and 30.82 is the latest. Where'd you get that?[/b]
It is for WinXP. If you go to windowsupdate then it will appear as an option under driver updates.[/b]

This one?

I have to say that I've chickened out of downloading the nvidia driver update shown for me under the Windows Update option as I think that it is probably older than the one I am currently using.  Pity they don't actually tell you the driver number before you download it.......

As for why it doesn't show up on BB's page I have no idea  :(  Sorry m8, can't help you there.....

w00t  there's progress in my problem, cs now gets into the game fine and i can run about for a while with no crash, BUT the mouse doesnt work.  Now typing +mlook (to enable mouse) in console crashes the game immediatly the second i press enter.   Anyone?  I'm looking for the -noforcearmsacell or something like that for command line.

Well there's progress again, now it takes about a minute to crash using those.
Anyone want to buy an Inno3d Ti 4200 Geforce4 128mb card?  Only one careful owner.

Have you tried any of the nvidia tweaking tools? See if it makes a difference (can't make it worse). Additionally, I wonder if you have a heating or memory problem?

If you have XP why not do the old 'Remote Assistance' thing? Is that an option?

Sorry to harp on about this but after trawling the internet and Googling away like a mad thing, I can only come up with Nvidia 3D Stereo drivers 30.87. They are for those 3D glasses doohickies.

I haven't downloaded it coz my drivers are stable but it shows in the windows update site as below:

Gandalf

never, NEVER download driver updates from micro$haft. They will screw with your system and it'll never be the same again.
