As you're no doubt aware, we are still plagued by lag spikes.

Tonight we ran a single server only and the spikes were still there.  <_<

This is a relatively new problem (evident since the last-but-one Steam update) so our existing hardware and network is unlikely to be the cause.  <_<  <_<

But we have to try everything. So....

Wednesday night we will again be running a single server (fresh install) but this time with no addons (AMXX, Metamod etc). We will also close down the website and the forums at approx 8pm when we'd like as many members as possible to be on the MeatHook. This should eliminate all but the HLDS software.

Please bear with us while we try to identify and eliminate the problem.

Don't forget, you can still use the #deadmen room on irc while the forum is down to get your fix of jolly banter  :)

As it's an away challenge I don't think it's a problem.

However, If you need Baldric for 9pm - no problem.  :)

I need to do some work tonight but I'll try and be around.
I seem to have the lagspikes only at MH and so. The CoFRserver is fine for me. MAybe ask what their settings and stuff is?

The CoFR server has also problems.


Many people have lag probs on many servers.

I only have the problem on MH when it is for everyone the 256 or 1000 ping.

On CoFR i have them all the time a 40/60 ping when i normal have a 17/30 ping on FR25

The lag is verry anoying.

I was lagging REALLY bad on the CZ server earlier.  In the end I thought "Right, I've had enough".

Quit to Windows to find Norton inspecting my hard drive for viruses, Doh!!  :lol:

Watchout for SpySweeper too. If you leave it running it lags you BIG time.

the steam update casued the lagg, nothing to do with the server, its happening on most if not all cs servers atm... thanks again steam
