In a fit of shortsightedness and unbelievable stupidity I have just been convinced by my brothers girlfriend to take part in this:

City 2 Surf

I'm working in Sydney for a few weeks in August when she's also out there for IBM. One drunken conversation about it in a London pub later and I found myself committed! I may not have long left............

Yeah, but there's a large hospitality tent at the end for all IBM folks which I can get hammered in. Run round Sydney, then get to Bondi beach for a few tinnies. There's worse places to suffer horribly

Well I did it - 14k in 1hr 48m

Blistering sun, free beer, and a bit of a dip in the ocean at Bondi - a just reward

and several thousand rasied by IBM for "charidee"
