Just got my new hard drive and RAM. Basically my hard drive is showing as 137gb.
I first formatted the hard drive as if it were on a seperate machine (i didnt plug my old one in) and installed windows normally. Then everything went dandy and i realised that it was first showing at 127gb and i knew that after an install of SP1 all would be fine. As usual nothing went to plan and sp1 did bugger all. I asked around and i was told to try this:
Open Command
type DISKPART
then LIST DISK
type SELECT DISK
 SELECT VOLUME
 EXTEND

Yey it worked and brought me an extra 10 gb hence teh now 137gb. Ive downloaded the tool from maxtor site which is meant to work. It didnt. The only thing that they suggest is to buy a IDE PCI card from them  :lmfao:  Sure guys...
Ive got a Asus A7N8X-E deluxe mobo, im assuming that can handle this sized hard drive????
Any ideas? You think i should reformat this hard drive via windows using my old hard drive to set it up again.

First check that you have the latest BIOS then search this forum for the recent discussion on exactly this problem. I think it covered most eventualities :)
