NEED A LIFT from the South-West

Now that GFK has had to pull out ( bad luck mate!) I am seeking a lift to the LAN. I can happily contribute to petrol, as hiring a car comes with quite a bit more overheads before you even get to the petrol stage! Alternatively if there's any other carless souls in the south-west regions we could band together to hire a car (approx £60 [fully-covered] plus petrol for a weekend I think is about the cheapest we'd find)

Anyway, let me know if you're willing and able to drive to the LAN via Bristol. plsplsplsplspls

thanks for the offer! ...but I'm not sure I can lug my PC+clothes, etc around on a train, else I'd probably try and train the whole way... pity 19" crt's aren't exactly portable! :angry:

Looking at multimap I guess bristol is a little far out of the way on the oxford-christchurch (that's where you meant?) route...obviously I'd appreciate it very much but I'd understand completely if that's too big a "detour" to take!

alternatively, if someone had a nice spare monitor (TFT or CRT capable of 1024 at 80Hz) I might be able to consider taking a train. But then again my PC case weighs 13kg empty (at least 15kg full) so I'd probably pay the premium and hire a car...
