It was most enjoyable again last night, thanks. I have to apologise to Malcolm Reynolds who I took off in the first turn in my last race. Sorry, I simply did not see you until it was too late, I got a good start and thought I had beaten all to the first bend, I looked in the mirror and only saw cars behind. I did try to steer away after first contact but it was too late. My fault entirely. :blush:  Anyway, it settled into a great race where Malcolm managed to get back into second and as my tyres were going off I nearly gave it all away. Looking forward to the next installment.

Nah....I watched the replay later on. I was on the wrong line for starters and as a result I went into the corner all crabbed. I knocked you flying too, so it was just as much my own fault if not all. Turned out a fun race anyhow  :D.

There's also a snowy version to drive on. Problem with this track, you tend to dissapear inside the mountains.  :blink:  It hasn't been fixed on the snowy version either. Don't think we'll using that track again in a hurry.

Thanks for that. Just don't wanna spend another 60 quid on getting my registry fixed.
I'll give it a try soon.

Another game to look at, if you are up for some manual tweaking and such, it Racer, //www.racerl.nl.

The handling is good, but problem is everybody can make cars and you have no idea how real they are. But if you stick to the good cars you are somewhat safe. There are tons of tracks and cars available.

It's now http://www.racer.nl/

Bit worried about this though: These Racer downloads are UNSUPPORTED (well, not that Racer itself is really supported in that sense). Download and try at your own risk. Keep a copy of your old files if things don't work out.  :unsure:

Logitech's old 'Driving Force' is the best cheap option I reckon and it''ll stand up to alot of punishment. I hammered mine almost to death, it looks knackered, but it still works perfectly, and I easily modified it to give about 150 degrees rotation rather than the standard 90. My nephew has it now and it's still working fine. If he can't wreck it then I don't think anyone can  :)
Should find one on Ebay.

Funny thing about Zandvort. I joined an online game a few weeks back at Zandvort and when I was the only driver there it was fine. But when someone else was there too my screen started flickering like a loonatic and it kept reloading me up all the time, had to leave. Didn't even get as far as the track  :huh:
Oh well, I'll download it again from nogrip this time, hope it works this time.

How about adding the Sears Point (Infineon Raceway) tonight? It's not too long, so incourages close racing, nice n' hilly with lots of sliding and (at least on my sys), I'm getting 40/50 fps. It's a fun track all round I think.

I read on the teletext almost 2 years back now that Geoff Crammond was working on a next gen version of it, next gen as in PS2, Xbox etc. I've heard sod all about it since then though, shame.
 There's a couple versions of Stunt car racer you can download, the only vers I could get to work though was the C64 one which was awful. I'm sure someone must have the amiga vers up n' running.

I tried the same with my 9600XT. Gpu 500 -> 580 MHz, RAM 300 -> 380 MHz. In pit in Cadwell I went from 25 to 29 fps <_<

I clocked the FSB and CPU up a bit via software as well 200 -> 208 MHz and I got up to 31 :eyebrow:

and ideas out there? I am prob. just in need of a new card I guess...

You may well have done all this, but have you tried disabling the trackside animations and enabling the high process priority, also removing the hands and feet from the steering wheel in the your plr file. They have varying effects on different tracks but the difference is always noticeable.
