ARMA / Black-Ops Down. Pre-Beta (by Liberator)
September 22, 2010, 05:52:01 PM
I managed to play this last week. Hopefully Ill get time in the next few days to play again. Is there any chance someone could rustle up a brief overview of the map/mission. This could be useful for all sorts of reasons. Including enticing more people to buy AO! And for those of us who arrive halfway through the map.

ARMA / Copying / backing up Profiles
September 12, 2010, 09:57:31 AM
For some reason they are in your documents folder. Arma 2 and Arma 2 other profiles. Its a good place to experiment with the graphics options. Ramping up textures etc. You can also set the game to windowed mode if, like me, you can't find the option in game!
Edit: The actual key settings are in the 'Arma 2 other profiles' folder.

ARMA / FaceTracking with just your web-cam!
September 03, 2010, 08:39:46 PM
Anyone tried using this. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm Its a free TrackerIR software that only requires a webcam to work. Which would make it a hell of a lot cheaper than that TrackerIR5 hardware if it does.
Though an external review says the webcam will need to be running at at least 30fps.
Might be time for a new webcam!

Mission Review / OA - Co8 -=dMw=-Libs Scud Base
September 03, 2010, 10:06:27 AM
I was one of those who joined in half way through last night. It was a great game. And wasn't that much of a problem not having all the info as I worked out what was going on from the comms and from you guys explaining the situation. Infact jumping in on a mission halfway through and having to be told what is going on added to the fun and realism. Also I think that the logistics of having to go and get the mobile spawn from its location keeps to the realism of OA.
On a side note, I thought OA came with UAV's? It would be great to have access to one or two during the game. Can you pop them in at all? And what do you guys think about having UAV's in game?
Oh and sorry for running you over in that landrover at the end Lib :)

Well the cryptographic services can be found in control panel> Administrative tools> services. Make sure their enabled. If not click on start up type, select automatic then reboot. Then try reinstalling Direct X

ARMA / ARMA II OA Server
July 18, 2010, 08:31:45 PM
I have it. Hoping you guys will be making an evening of it soon. In the mean time the best server I have found is the PARA1, they are a good bunch, and use plenty of Teamspeak. (low ping too)

ARMA / A few questions.
July 12, 2010, 04:25:27 PM
Having great fun playing Operation Arrowhead, though I've just realised that you guys who play on a Tuesday night won't be playing OA! Do you think this might happen at some point?
Mainly I've been  focusing on boot camp, the armoury and online game play. The single player campaign doesn't really interest me.
Multi-player is very cool. Although the first few times I managed to kill the odd friendly and the odd civilian. After much apologies I managed not to get kicked. Though I did get kicked last night for getting into a chopper, flying 20 metres into the air then hitting the ground sideways at speed. Which is fair enough. Obviously need more practise in the armoury.
A few questions:

a) How do you find a distance to target during night ops, as the binocular range finder doesn't work in the dark?
b) Is there a a website somewhere that has a list of all the weapons with their range and info on scopes etc?
c) How do you get hold of one of those sniper camo suits that makes you look like an ewoke? And does it make any difference to how easy the AI can spot you?

Count me in. OA just dropped through my letterbox. If I can get on the server at that time is a different matter. I'll give it my best shot. ( See what I did there!)

Have you tried changing the original D drive to another letter and then change the new drive to D?
