DMR Members Only / Tanales/Teldo hacked?
December 06, 2009, 06:45:34 AM
Sorry to hear that, sucks getting your keys logged, happened to someone i know and it is frustrating knowing someone is using the account for illegal purposes.

You mentioned getting scanned, do you have an AV solution on your computer already?  If so, which is it?  Also try one of the many free online solutions such as House Call:
housecall.trendmicro.com

Also, have you updated your system with all the essential security updates?

*Edit*
Also glad Blizzard locked your account as quick as they did.  I have seen compromised accounts stay active for days (as was the case i witnessed before).  Think TL's quick GM report helped!

DMR Members Only / Zahrah swapped to the Horde.
November 19, 2009, 11:28:49 PM
Due to reasons I'd rather not say publicly, Zahrah has found a new home in the Horde that i hope will work out better for my needs.  Some people will disagree with me, some others will probably think "good riddance".  Regardless, i hope you all good progress in the future.  My alts will stay in DMR, unless they are not allowed there.  Sorry if this had come as a shock to anyone or disappointed anyone.

During this time i may pop in online from time to time when a WiFi network is available but generally speaking i won't be online much.

Thanks guys, paid her family a visit tonight and had a chat with them all before going out for dinner.  Got her a gift (Blackberry 8900), which she loved and called it a night.

Taking Saturday off (here, the first day of the week), to get my sleep back in sync again lol.

On August 14th, i got engaged to a lovely young woman.  Party went pretty dang late (4am!) and slept a good deal the following day.  Here's us two at the hall.

DMR Members Only / Naxx 10 alt run
August 04, 2009, 11:37:22 AM
I have my Paladin (Trueblu) who can tank or dps (her main spec is prot).  I also have a healing Druid (Kintaris) if a healer is needed or a Mage (Liandris) if you're prefer that one.  My main is Zahrah, since my user name doesn't show it as such.

DMR Members Only / IMPORTANT: Keyloggers

Scary stuff, though i do use Firefox+Noscript+Adblock so that could help a little.  I have been after those little authenticators for a while but they just don't ship em here, which is a shame really.  Even tried to see if i could get the mobile authenticator but of course, i use a Samsung Omnia that runs in Windows Mobile and they apparently don't have a program for Windows phones :ranting2:

People will not get a chance to know the "tactics" or experience them first hand if decisions are based on that fact.  Building groups on getting things done the smoothest way possible is also obviously going to skew invites in one direction for an unfairly long time.  And optimal?  How are players who have blues fine for 25 mans but not fine for 10 mans?  Makes no sense at all.

And how does one get into these runs?  Seeing as asking about it in Gchat or even asking an officer results in no replies?  I could desperately use 10 Uld but if there is no clear sign up, or way to inquire about it, whats the use?

Yup i raided on Iressa as Enhancement, she is elemental now though :narnar:

Hello!  Here it goes...

Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do
*My name is Abdullah, Abe for short.  I'm residing in Saudi Arabia and am 24 years old.  I work for an airline, in a maintenance hangar doing paper work.

What's your situation at home like?
*I live with my family (normal in this part of the region, trust me :D) and i am engaged and hope move on!

What kind of internet connection do you have?
*Have been using HSDPA internet for the last 2 years.  Basically internet using mobile networks.  It works well enough, i usualy manage 25 mans fine.  Though rarely (like all connections) it does throw a fit for a bit.

What are the core specs of your computer?
*I have 2 systems i play from.  My laptop (primary system) and a desktop.  Laptop is pretty new, Core 2 Duo P8400, 4GB ram and Vista on a GF 9600M GT.  PC is a Core 2 Duo (dont remember the model number), 4GB ram, also Vista and a ATI 3780.  Love both to bits.

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?
*For too long (since at least 2nd grade?).  I started PC gaming with (ironically) Warcraft 2 and spend the majority of my time on WoW.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?
*First raiding experience goes from MC on my first Priest (Heartmender) throu AQ40 during classic.  TBC i went up to MH Anetheron & Supremus in BT on my Shaman (Iressa).  In WotlK i have cleared Naxx 10/25 and upto Iron Council Uld on my Paladin on the Horde (Twistedheart).

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
*Equanimity, main was retired due to the time changes to raids that did not allow me to raid properly (2AM local time).
*Chronicles of Chaos, members/officers leaving causing the guild do more or less collapse due to improper raid timing/performances.
*A previous incarnation of Dead Men Raiding, can't remember the name for the darnest of me.
*The Companions, most recent guild.  Forced to leave due to different expectations of the guild required from members.
*May be others previously just can't remember em all since 2005 :P

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
*I am a master of alts and am sometimes on: Trueblu (80 Tankadin), Kintaris (77 multi-purpose druid) and Liandris (75 Mage).

If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.
*Nope, Aszune born and raised.

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
*Mostly try to enjoy it in its many ways (its why i got so many alts).  I am typically quiet and keep to my self but speak out when i feel the need to do so.
My enjoyment of the game has a lot to do with the fact i love the Warcraft universe and story, though i do like the game in itself as well.
One thing i do not like about WoW at the moment is the level of PvP changes that effect PvE game play and abilities.

Your character

Please link to your armory profile.
http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aszune&n=Zahrah

If your armory does not show your intended spec then please make a template of it and link it.
*I sometimes swap between Holy and Discipline for the sake of change (if it does not interfere with raids).

Why did you decide to play this class?
*It has been my class of choice since i started my first Priest in 2005, although i do enjoy Paladins also to a great degree.  (i have two lvl 80 Paladins as well as Zahrah (80) and Heartmender (72).  I enjoy the role of healing most of the purposes in the game, not that i dislike the others though.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
*Holy Priests are great AoE healers and potent tank healers.  Discipline healers are even stronger MT healers but their AoE powers are reduced.  Shadow is for well...melting faces (and bosses!).

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)
*For the most part, it is a cookie-cutter build.  Serendipity and Test of Faith were a tough choice, but chose Serendipity for faster G.Heals to help avoid the circumstance that would result in Test of Faith.  Holy Reach and Healing Prayers was another, i choose for the later for mana reasons since some fights realy could use a little PoH spam.
Discipline is in my opinion a great spec as well, a bit more fun as well.  Shields and dmg prevention make this "healing" spec unique to the other healers in WoW.  Although misunderstood due to low healing meter performance due to absorbs not being listed on recount.

This guild

What do you look for in a guild?
*A fun & healthy environment where players can have fun and raid together.  Either falling over bosses or bosses falling over them, keeping a good laugh in chat and patting each other on the back for a job well done.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
*To be honest, i haven't a clue!

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
*Because i am looking for a casual but friendly/serious raiding guild.  Previous experience with a few members prior and the friendly raid times were a plus.

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
*There may be some in DMR that play under different names/characters from when i knew them.  Of the few i do remember was Sheepeh (probably mispelled)

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
*Yes.  Reasonable expectations that i hope truly exist in DMR.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
*Try to ignore it & if it bothers me so much as to offend me, contact an officer.

Cake or Pie?
*Definitely Pie (Apple cinnamon please).

Aye, sorting out the people with an IQ of a peanut (like Arfus) and people who know how to play decent is tough.  Had a few people whisper me about SoG only to tell them to post on the forums, lets see how far they get :lmfao:
