Counter-Strike: Source / Meathook Custom Maps

That's good, takes away a LOT of hassle and it works very well, because downloading them from the server costs almost no time at all.

Counter-Strike: Source / Meathook Custom Maps

They should have made it "de_classified" :flirty:

Don't maps automatically get downloaded from the server? I've played a few new maps over there and they all loaded very fast.

Call of Duty / CoD4 - Etiquette
December 05, 2008, 06:24:42 PM
I find the spaning system on Cod4 to be very nice. In a round-based game like CS you're alright with static spawns, but a game like COD needs to move them around to keep it playable.

It's funny how matches in games like rainbow six always end up with basecamprape, which doesn't work here. No base, no rape. Just make sure your entire team doesn't get huddled up in a single room, or you'll all just keep spawning in the same deathtrap.

Yeap, main reason for me to sign on here was to find the password for that thing.

No insurgency for me, but I have just installed COD again so I might turn up there some time.

I just played it on console for the first time and I couldn't believe how arcade-ey it was, so I can't wait to play it on PC again.

Would be fun and worth a try. Heaven knows the only kills I get nowadays are by spraying.

When I want to get rid of my custom models I just rename the folders in cstrike they are in. It's easy enough to rename them if you want them back.

We've had pleny of rooms, we just haven't registered any of it on film for you.

And b00n sure you have, I believe you. It's just a shame your skill degraded so much now you're playing source. Don't worry though.

Noone holds it against you :narnar:

Nah, I'm just being mean here. Your suggestion is good, Jabbs, but surely aimmaps don't really work very well in source?

I'm curious to see if it's possible. Because I know when you alt-tab CSS it reloads probably the entire GCF. I'm pretty sure you can't change it when in-game, because that would make cheating a lot easier. Please do post!

My heart rejoices whenever I see a nice custom model performing a wonderful new custom animation.

More specifically, CS 1.6 aim. You won't know what's hitting you.

Yeah, we gave lots of people a run for their money. Or their mommy.

When it came to proper matches we were right dreadful, though. But we had some good times.

Oh hey, I see you guys have a pretty lively mapping community as well. I already got to play some very fine creations. But I've already noticed it's a mistake to try aim-maps on source.

It's as easy to install custom models as it is to uninstall them.

Installing is usually a copy-paste job if it's a good release. Sometimes you have a choice between skins or animations and it's a little trickier, but still self-explanatory.

Uninstalling is as easy as renaming any of the folders with custom content in your ctrike folder. Then the game will just revert back to loading content from the .gcf files. So there's nothing permanent to it, and no backups need to be made.

A good site where a big part of the custom content community is located is //www.cdg.net/forums. Any of the good stuff you'll find on sites like fpsbanana probably originates from there.

Counter-strike wouldn't be where it is today without custom content.

In fact, counter-strike IS custom content ^_^

[CSS:M4A1, SG552] End of Days & WangChungs's XM8

[CSS: MP5] Heckler & Koch MP5A2

[CSS M249] M-60, "The Pig"

I've always been quite a big fan of using custom models, so I thought I'd share my five cents here, though I assume I'm telling many of you nothing new.

Nice playing, fellas.

I've been saying the bots on your pub are tough, but now I might actually prefer them

Hey all.

Just joined the forums, thought I'd say hello.

Got pointed to your CSS server by Jabbs, who wasn't saying too much when he told me you can play a fine game there. Which is a treat, because places like that are becoming rare.

I play a bit of COD4 as well, though I don't have it installed at the mo. I might actually have walked across your server once or twice.

Other than that I play a few racing games with my thrustmaster wheel, and I do a lot of "X-bocksing". Well, I don't really; the blasted thing just broke.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying to fit in here.
