I'm going to be touring round Europe for the next 3 weeks so you wont see me online for a bit :narnar:

We're going to be catching a ferry to Dunkerque then driving through Belgium to Germany.

First stop in Germany is Holiday-park, this has one of the top rated coasters anywhere in the world (I love coasters) -
http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=124&linkid=1227
http://www.coasterforce.com/Expedition_GeForce

Then driving down to Freiburg, Germany, to go on the highest/fastest roller coaster in Europe
http://www.coasterforce.com/Silver_Star - also this coaster, Blue Fire, at the same park - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNMBQssRTzU

Then, weather depending, we are aiming for the Top Gear best driving roads - http://www.redlineblog.com/top-gears-worlds-best-driving-road-in-detail/ (not the Turini one)
This means going South East through Switzerland and into a bit of Italy. Then from the San Bernardino Pass driving to Chamonix for the Aguile du Midi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aiguille_du_Midi (check out the pictures), and then on to Laragne. Hope to stay about a week and a half at Laragne then drive straight back up through France.

Rough route down is like this -

Most definitely some awesome racing. Anyone not there really missed out :)

Thx again to Stu, that race at Falkenberg was the most intense, sustained, bumper to bumper racing I think I've ever had in any sim! :D

rFactor / Track change
August 16, 2009, 08:49:36 PM
How about Sardian Heights, it's a blast in something like the Cortina once you get to know your way round :D

I don't really mind, but what would be nice is a more regular track change, say every couple of days?

Are you saying that no-one will know what numbers refer to which track? (apart from you of course)

Sounds fine to me as long as everyone has all of the tracks from here -

Otherwise we'll be losing people :)

Sorry I was late to the party, I was having a meal with some mates in the pub

Unfortunately I was then a little over the legal limit for racing :D

Stu, I watched the replay of my roll from inside your car, that must have had you in stitches, and cleared the road nicely for you :)

Deetz, I think what you were apologising for was when I zoomed past you under braking, because I had already hit the wall and had a puncture and couldn't stop properly. So it's me who's sorry for that.
A shame because the first 2 laps of that race were superb.

Just for info, a couple of useful sites for finding real world tracks, I've set these to search for Canadia tracks :)

http://www.etracksonline.co.uk/NAmerica/Canada/canada.html

http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Tracks_in_Canada

This is not to say that the tracks will have been converted for rFactor etc.
Check out the Active Mountain Raceway, looks like fun from the Gif, shame there's no sim version

What about this one for Friday, it's in the HOF and has 5star ratings - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Trois-Rivieres

There's an idea. If you feel there's two tiers of drivers how about a handicapping system like getting the faster drivers to choose the lower powered cars and vicky versa? That could be interesting. :g:

For anyone in the UK with Freeview.

Did you see the program GT Racer on Dave today?
It was all about racing classic GT cars round Spa and they had loads of the cars that feature in HistorX. Great to see the real things being thrashed round Spa :D

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Escort and Capri, but mixed in with other cars they just blow them away, so as other people have said above, you don't get such close racing. And good, fair, close racing is why I'm in DMR because you guys have the ability and attitude to make it fun :)

The last race on Friday at Donni was mainly a mix of Escort/Capri and it was great fun, so I'm quite happy to see a field full of those cars too.  But also I think it's fun to try and 'tame' something that you don't normally drive.

As long as it's a level playing field it should make for better racing and that should increase the smile factor rather than alienating peeps IMHO :g:
