Hello, I'm New Here...... / Return of Snah
April 19, 2013, 04:02:49 PM
Guys been a while since I have been active on the internet + on the site...
I have been in Africa for the last 5 years on assignment and have now moved to Singapore for another 3 year assignment  Also decided to get an X51 Alien-ware and a 150 Mbps fiber connection in anticipation of being able to play CS once again and hopefully this time with limited lag....

Hope to be able to bump into some of the old(er) folks online as soon as I figure out how to get CS running on Win8

All the best from this side of the globe

Cheers

I also seem to have a problem with rates etc. What would you recommend for an ADSL connection (from the Netherlands) that supposedly runs at 8192 Kbps / 1024 Kbps. If you need a traceroute summary I can get one tonight.
Thanks

Counter-Strike 1.6 / Steam tip of the day
March 05, 2004, 02:30:42 PM
How I fixed my steam installation......

Reinstalled 1.6... (after a 45min download)
Connected to the net...
Updated steam...
Connected to dMw server...
Updated cs...
Played CS  :D

I wasted about 2 or 3 hours trying to get the damn thing to work after getting stuck with no offline option.

Now I have problems with some maps... and geeks using snipers when they are 14 / 2 up and outnumber me 2 to 1...  Next time I'm gonna

If you restart your pc do you still get an error message saying file damaged. And if you go to task manager you can close down the steam.exe process. Let me know...

Counter-Strike 1.6 / steam's down
March 04, 2004, 06:00:48 PM
Yeah went in on offline mode... all you can do is change some settings...

Another strange error was that a Steam error message said my internet connection is not configured correctly for steam to use ???? In offline mode you can change your connection types, but none have worked so far...

And if you exit offline mode you cannot go " offline"  again until you connect to the network...

Maybe the ONLY reason I went offline was because I cannot go ONLINE

Talk about being screwed..... Anyone  else managed to sort this one out ??

How's it going Bravo Company

Just a short one to introduce myself. My name is Hans and I live in The Hague (Netherlands) and have been playing CS on and off for about a year now.

I used to play a lot on the CIGS server before the changes and got to know a few of you there. Hope to see you all on the server shortly.....

Hi there, I joined the forum a few days ago and have also managed to have a couple of good games on your server. I have played CS for about a year and as per the tag I played mostly at the CIGS server. To the guys I know hi, nice to be able to play CS with you again.
