Using this "easy cash cow" method i bought a new python for my 2nd account, in under 10 hours of game play...
Now as to why- because it does it all, and most importantly, it can land on outposts!

Getting cash is stupidly easy now, it took my over 2 months to do this before! Otherwise new commanders can run black box collections, 1 mill per mission yes sir i`ll take that, just be aware that "other interested parties" may be involved...cue 1 dangerous python, 2 eagles and a sidewinder... and i am in the fee sidy... i`ll just sit here until they pass!

Currently on route back into the bubble, as i took a quick 6k trip out to unlock palin.
Then it is really time to abuse him for cash, "get to the conda!", then more engineering unlocks.

You can also ping me any questions about loadouts*
Cmdr Ranualf

*please note my house is undergoing a retrofit for the kitchen, so i will be afk for several hours a day... probably until next week
But i can usually be reached on TS.elitepve.com:9988, Same name

The site i prefer to use for builds is https://coriolis.edcd.io/

And remember, never fly without a rebuy! (or few)

Having seen first hand just what the "goids" can do, it is a time to be afraid!
Yes i have been killed several time in my smaller ships, while "goid hooning"...

Personally i think the green goids are the oresirarians and the orange(aka evil looking) goids are the klaxarariarians and we are the meat in the sandwich which wants to kill and devour the other half...of the sandwich.. not a good time to be human..

The new story driven elements will be fun to play, and you can get up close and personal with a goid down in maia, just jump out of the system, 1 jump in any direction and look for "non human signal sources"... threat level 5... taaadaa!
Should you choose to go where many other commanders have been before... then.. wear the brown pants.

Once in, throttle down and sit still- if you see a glitch graphic on you targeting hud(looks like a glitched triangle), then well done, a goid be there, and yes it has already seen you!
Then SIT STILL
If you don't see the glitch, then goidy has left the bubble :/

Once you find a goid:
It will zoom over and scan you- better not have slaves, imp slaves or meta alloys- they love them.. and are more than willing to engage in "energetic negotiations"... meaning it will kick your asp for your cargo, they have a speed of about 310m/s and a mass lock of 30...better be quick, or be dead!
If you are still sitting still at this point, nudge that brain of your and say RUUUN FOREST!

However, if you don't have anything they want, you can just sit there and watch them harvest / feed... until they jump out.

If you want to get real fancy, run silent, throw out a alien sample collector and wait...
and wait for the collector to do "its thing".. maintain about 2-3k distance.. if you get within 500m, it will auto attack.. read the be quick or be dead part again..

Having patently waited for the collector to "do its thing", lower cargo scoop, SIT STILL, and grab the limpet and wait for the goid to jump out, scan its wake...more data!
Congrats, you now have a alien flesh sample in your cargo hold.. whats that? oh, didn't i mention it is highly toxic and it is eating your ship from the inside...
You had best pay palin a visit befor carrying out said collection mission- do not try more than one.. they do NOT like finding out that part of "uncle bert" is in your cargo hold, read the be quick or be dead part...

Great fun playing tag the goid...

Failing that, wing up, all grab a AX scanner and take a **** of AX missiles, multi cannons and other guns / lasers, repair limpets, healing beams and try to kill uncle bert, the green goid of death..
engage and have fun ...or die trying :P

Elite: Dangerous / The Unknown - Revisit Elite
September 10, 2016, 07:37:41 PM
This is a better version of the smuggling system we used, but it is now a LOT easier.
A typical cutter run will net you 60-75 million per run. Whic means you can easily afford nice goodies!

See you out in the void.

Quote from: albert;411071Superb matey. Did you guys all land on the surface or any body nearby?

We landed on a lot of planets :P

Some of you may have heard of the distant worlds project.. where various (insane) commanders are headed off to Beagle Point CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 81500 3302.01.25.
Why- well because it is there, and VERY , VERY, VERY FAR away...
To put it into perspective, when i was at Beagle point, SagA* was 40, 000 ly behind me...

So we have done it, landed and placed our "trophy" on the landing site. All that remains is to head back to the bubble, circular 2-3 weeks if we travel fast!

For those who are feeling brave, it is a LONG haul and great fun to be honest!

Elite: Dangerous / 10,000 merits in a week
October 08, 2015, 06:17:36 PM
You can buy a decent ship after you pay check lands
Additionally you can farm RES sites or combat zones (don't go alone) and make a fortune.

Fly safe and have fun

Elite: Dangerous / Calling all combat pilots!

I am at cap for this week so i am unable to help.
As me, torden and McG and went to LHS 142 and had some fun with the locals :P

I managed to get 5005 merits, so my penalty for next weeks should be low(here`s hoping)
Remember the more you go over your merit cap (10k for us) the more you will have to earn next week!

Fly safe

Quote from: albert;403648A lot to take in but very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Not really complex Albert.

Just the usual sign up for a power play faction.
Go to the expansion tab, click the system on map button (on the bottom).
Plot your nav to get there, and travel to said destination)
Once there look for Crime Sweep on the contact menu (sub nav).

You can go in to the Crime Sweep solo or as a group (recommended). A wing of 4 players can quickly decimate the enemy, Eagles and the F63 condor just melt- easy money!
Each ship is worth 10 merits- big/small they are all worth the same.
Spend a few hours slaying the enemy (recommend cashing in at 2k merits, at a CONTROLLED system). And watch your merits climb up. The more you do, the bigher the reward- it is very easy to get 1000+ merits per hour, easily placing you into rank on tick over (remember you will need to wait a week for your pay).
During this week of slack time, do more killing and earn more rank.
At rank 5 you're pay will be 50 million CR per week- all you need to do to maintain it is grind 5000 merits (you will also be paid 5 million CR for this also) meaning if you did nothing else you would earn 55 million per week!

As for the Mobius group, it is the largest (i think) PvE player group out there with 10,000+ members.
No they are not all on-line at the same time. The same is for TS, as there is usually 20 or so at any time, but it goes down to about 10 in the wee hours of the day, due to international time differences, etc.

See you out in the void, fly safe and make easy cash.

Once PL happens, i suspect a lot of the power play may drop off the radar, unless it is integrated somehow. But we can only sit by and wait to see what happens, also the new ships- of which we received a sneak peak of this week.. more to come!

Elite: Dangerous / Federal Corvette- Sneak peak
September 11, 2015, 06:03:01 PM
An early look at the massive Federal Corvette, coming to Elite: Dangerous soon. The Corvette is the largest pilotable Federal ship, with some massive stopping power - two medium, three large and two huge hard points- HERE IS MY BOOMSTICK!

Sneaky, didnt you already have premium Alpha backer status? as you have access to Shinrata.

Fly safe, and dont pay twice (unless you are generous).
#13
Great stuff WELCOME TO ALD.

You missed the bit where the pay cheque is a week in arrears.
Thus you will get your pay next week.. I however will receive mine.. just as soon as i finish downloading Elite (and many other games) onto the new rig.
Additionally you will gain substantial points into your combat prowess rank, as the ships in the Crime sweeps are quite hard (don't jump in alone, unless brave or foolish..).

There is usually at least 3 or 4 fellow commanders wanting to wing up at any time during the week for merit grind or RES hunting, which makes for nice play.
Its the same for trading, always some one willing to wing up and do the slave run. An easy 100k bonus per trip for anyone in your wing, and it soon ads up with the 1 jump mass haulers (Anaconda skinny build). And the credits quickly rack up.
We even do AFK cash farming (so long as you don't take the pee) to help our new commanders out a lot. As each player will drop 62k+ for 1 jump. Meaning the new guy is going to get 186k every 10 mins for doing nothing, or even just tailing us and "guarding" the cargo (you will need a 19ly jump to keep up).

There has been quite a few fellow commanders join in the last few weeks. And like i posted then, anyone is more than welcome to join us (we dont bite... much) and have a good lark about..

Fly safe and earn 50 million CR in a few hours .. bring your cobra.

Elite: Dangerous / CQC First Impressions
September 03, 2015, 04:25:04 PM
So i have done a few hours of the CQC Beta

Maps- only 4 of them at the moment, but they look good, and play well- no obvious exploits (that i could discern).
Favourite map- Ice fields- loads of large, medium and small chunks of ice floating about for you to ram yourself to death upon.
Least Favourite- probably the scientific research facility- limited amount of cover/ access routes to the enemy.

The matches

Team Conflict- a mix of deathmatch + capture the flag- not yet tried (very long queues)
Team deathmatch- great fun, but the team selector needs a good kick, as it placed me(rank 5) vs a rank 12+ a rank 18 for a match... Seriously unbalanced.
Capture the flag- oh this is superb fun! And my favourite- 1st team to 3 wins. Think of Warsong Gulch(WoW) and you are not far off how it works- you need to own your flag, and "hand in" the enemy flag, if for some reason they get a hold of your flag- you can not hand it until you kill the enemy flag carrier and return your flag.

The matches are fairly quick, with the team death match being the slowest, due to the 1500 points required to reach (unless you have an uber team).
Or 30 mins expires.

The ships

There are currently 3 ships available:
The F63 Condor(you know the one the police use)- fast, lightweight(initially) and has Chaff as a starting option.
The Sidewinder. The good old matchbox ship, and had a shield cell booster as initial option (rank 3 req)
The Eagle. The ultimate fighter- starts with twin beam lasers and a heat sink (rank 4 i think to unlock)

The three ships can be fitted out with various loadouts and options based upon you rank- on a sliding scale of course. Thus the higher your rank, the more options that you have access to, making your ship a killing machine...

As you do the various matches, just what you did in the match reflects in your overall score, but currently it seems that killing people has the highest reward (i think).
Gaining ranks it is a bit slow to start with(if your team keeps losing), but i suspect once you gain access to more deadlier weapons, then your progress will be faster.

I think the top rank is 50, then you have an option to either stay there on you pinnacle of success or hand it in to gain prestige. This will grant you additional in game credits (yes you get paid) and i think i read it in one of the tips that you can gain access to the stations in game (unknown prestige level). Additionally you gain a mark (or something) next to your name, that indicates your not a scrubbly rank1, but you are in fact a (x times) scrub rank 1.

Overall impressions

There are a few personal niggles- like having to enter CQC from the main menu. This means you can not be in game, and "queue for battle" like you can in other games.
Thus it forces you to select CQC or the main game, which is a pain in the Asp. I think once you have achieved a few ranks of prestige, that you can have access to it from in game, but i am not 100% certain upon this, as the tip was on screen for a few seconds and then the match started...

As stated above, there are only 3 match types available at the moment, i would like to see a few more, but it's early days yet.

The match making servers are sparsely populated (for now), and thus it means waiting for a match can be time consuming, as players get sick and just log out. The server will also take an uneven number of players and lump them randomly together. My personal experience of this is very telling, as it could have placed me + the rank 12 player together vs the rank 18 guy, and it would have been an interesting match. But no, it placed them both against me.. ***
So that issue really need to be looked into as a matter or priority.

Maps - only 4 for now, lets hope they get more produced as they are fun.

Playability- all the maps work great, one of them has a quick access route to the enemy goal from one end of the map, learn how to defend :P
Size of the maps- they are fairly big, but you can not see the edge of the map, and you just get a warning, then it self destructs after 10 seconds- easy to lose sight of things in space!

Number of ships- only 3 at the moment, but there are more out there which could easily making it into the game- the DBS, Viper and even Imperial Eagle/ Courier could end in for top end ranking rewards, although balancing may be an issue, but FD seem to have done an excellent job thus far.

Map graphics- other than the dark background of space, there are only a few other things- could have more "zones", but the stations look good.
Game play balances- some very odd decisions from the matchmaker, this need to be addressed quickly to make it more even and "fairer". Putting 4 sub rank 10 players together vs a 12, 18, 22, and 13 is seriously unbalanced(surprisingly we lost...), thus they have failed greatly at this.

Matchmaking times- low population of players(for now) means longer queues or matches with 1+ players (yes i was in a match by myself!).. allas i lost as nothing to kill...
Entry into CQC- could be greatly improved, already loads of fellow CMDR's have asked for this to be implemented into the Nav panel. And this would improve the QOL for the game.

Ramming, already there are several posts about this issue, one is 40+ pages long about the ramming issues. As the rammer takes little damage(if any with shields up) and the target gets pawned. Once again the ugly head of the beast is butting you in the face. A simply 50/50 damage equation would solve this (temporarily) until one of the clever programmers developed an equation that works..
As it stands the F63 condor is the weakest ship vs ramming (TARGET) vs the Eagle(strong) and Sidewinder(TANK!), FD have taken note of this and are watching the threads. All they have said so far is that the F63 is agile and should be able to avoid a lot of the rams. Easier said than done when all the other ships decided to ram you, as one of the posts stated.

Targeting- Those of us who have done a fair bit of combat (52% dangerous) will find the targeting is manual only! No more click highest threat, no more click closest target, its target ahead only! If FD could implement standard targeting into  CQC then it would make it a lot easier to see the damn enemy, as currently if they are more than 500m away, then they may as well be invisible, due to small ships having a low heat signature, unless they are targeted by a wingman (no wingman lock yet either)

Spawn camping- I never encountered this in any of my matches, but there are several posts about this happening. As always in PvP matches, players will learn where you spawn and lurk there, eagerly awaiting you return.. FD have said that they are looking into it, and lets hope a quick fix happens.

Silent wingman, reports of "friends" not killing each other in a deathmatch have been reported(several times), leading to players teaming up against others. Again FD are looking into this, although just how they force you to kill someone you don't want to shoot will be interesting...

Overall impression- CQC is great fun, yes you will die because your noob ship is not a beastly killing machine, that is armed and armoured to the teeth.
Learn to defend you flag, learn the routes in between the stations and we mean this literally- as in the routes are in the stations!
Learn to fly close to objects, FA off and enjoy!

Elite: Dangerous / Faction jumping
September 01, 2015, 12:06:34 AM
I have left the disney princess after several weeks.
The fact i was out in the void for nearly 5 weeks is mute. As i flew back, got my merits and paid for he shiney shields on 3 of my ships.

Seeing as only me and Arithon have been on lately i joined the Mobius PVE group- a great group of slightly insane fellows with a dedicated large TS server. Pure PVE and no killing of fellow commanders.
Like the post says, i have left the disney princess and join with her older half sister, 5 times removed on her 2nd brothers cousin`s side.. aka ALD or A Lavigny-Duval

Why- well the weapon option is /meh - the multi shot rail gun- sounds good, looks good and performs average, but vs a pure rail gun it is weaker, unless you hit with all 3 shots.

However, her passive bonus is amazing, +100% bounties at rank 5, and + 40% initial bounty off the target. There is also a glitch(we think) that means the basic bounty payout is much larger than anticipated. To the tune of +170%.
Thus a 100k bad guy is worth 170k! Which means when you drop into a High RES for bounty hunting, you can make a SERIOUS amount of cash- 20-30 million per hour!

Additionally the passive payout of 50 million credits PER WEEK!
The way to get merits is either interdict enemies and kill them (getting yourself bounties on your head- but meh) or team up and go into a  Crime Sweep and kill anything for 10 merits per kill.

A crime sweep is like a CRZ, but you don't get cash for the kills, just 10 power play merits each. You also gain combat progression fairly fast, and the merits are worth 1000 CR per merit. An average cash in is 200k for 2000 merits (best to be safe than sorry).

Hop on line, apply for the mobius group if you want to tag along any time.

Fly safe and get your easy cash!
