You

Are you applying for a Raider position, or Social membership?
I am applying for a raiding position.

If applying for a Raider position, please tell us which evenings of the week you are available to raid and which evenings you cannot commit to attending.
Most commonly all days, Wednesdays are sometimes a bit tricky due to work where I won't be able to be there before 21.00. All-round I'm working on fixing that out so I can have another day instead :)

Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do? Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name is Thomas, I'm from Denmark and I actually just turned 18 today. I work as a cashier/register guy down in the local supermarket, which I do alongside my studies. I've played WoW for a long while now (almost 4 years I believe) and as you should I've become quite a good player. With Cataclysm i decided to take a new path where I
before had been a mage dps for the entirety of WotLK and rolled my Death Knight up. So far I'm having a good time with that.

What kind of internet connection do you have?
My internet connection is 8 mbit but I never experience any network crashes or the like so it's as stable as it gets.

What sort of frame rates do you get when playing WoW and is your computer current?
I run with anything from 40-60 (mostly 60) during raids. My computer is from last fall so it's still going fairly strong. It is definitely a good computer.

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?
I've been playing computer games ever since i was 10-11 with Runescape and all them games, but started playing WoW a bit later where a friend of mine introduced me to it.

What kind of raiding experience do you have?
In the long run, I've tried a bit. I'm not a Vanilla veteran, but i have nonetheless had my share of raids. I shall make you a list.

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
I was originally in Shadow of the Phoenix on the Horde side of this server but I don't feel like I'm getting what I want from our raiding progression with only 2/7.
Personally in WotLK I really got a taste for the progression-oriented raiding style but I've stuck with Phoenix for a long time because I really do enjoy being with the people in there and I feel like I have so much invested in the guild (Was an officer for a good while in there as well).

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
I'm currently leveling my Paladin (Kunglight) but she is on the Horde side as well with my Death Knight. Best/easiest way of getting a hold of me is either
adding me on Real ID or sending me an email on thomas.vejling@gmail.com where I regularly check.

If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.
I'm sure that if you contact Tyberos in your guild (lvl 32 Worgen Hunter) he will vouch for me. He also currently raids in Shadow of the Phoenix. If not, you can contact a guy called Jio (shaman), who is a good friend of mine.

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
My plans for the game is pretty non-original. I want to have fun and simply kill some dragons for phat loot. No, but in all honesty I'm in this game to raid and to have fun while doing it. I can easily put on a game-face but I like having a relaxed time in a Teamspeak 3 server. I have a good personality, I know
how to have fun and just in general enjoy myself. I am also very critic of my own mistakes because I hate ****ing up...

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
I don't like how 5-man Dungeons is practically solo-able for a tanking specced class, since most of the tanks have self healing these days. This of course only goes for the lower levels, but it really bugs me that my paladin can solo bosses in the 50's without breaking a sweat :)

Your character

Please link to your armory profile.
My Armory

If your armory does not show your intended spec then please make a template of it and link it.

Why did you decide to play this class?
I decided to go with Death Knight because I liked the class when it first came out, but I never got around to actually learning the class back then. So when I decided to go for a new class in Cataclysm I chose my DK, also because it's a big shift to go from ranged to melee. It's definitely been a challenge but I
like challenges.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
My class' role is to be around and do loads of DPS but what a Frost Death Knight also offers is utility like chains of ice and slows through chillblains. We also offer the haste buff and scary eyes to simply make them dragons give their loot away.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)
My build is pretty cookie-cutter, there are another build that goes into unholy instead and picks up added disease damage, but I like the extra rune you get from Blood Tap for easy stabilization after using Pillar of Frost. I picked up Chillblains because I think it's simply a good talent all-round and it's also allowed me to do some trash farming for the axes.
I tried unholy just when T12 came out but I really don't like how Unholy plays at all and in the end DW Frost ends up being slightly better if executed correctly. So i simply chose it because it's the best spec for me right now where I have access to the Obsidium Cleavers.

This guild

What do you look for in a guild?
I look for a great bunch of people who enjoy raiding good. Feeling progression is important for me, when i can see that we got 10 % more of a boss, or got another phase down that relaxes me and makes me happy, so that's the kind of guild I want. A guild that can and will progress through content.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
I'm shocked you aren't Horde and all undeads ;) Such a trick question, to me it's a name like Postal or Paragon, but it does show a bit of how I get the feeling you are - a community that is a unity (plural dead men)

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
I applied to you because I think you're at around my progress level (a bit ahead of course) and you seem like a generic good bunch of people with a tight social atmosphere in the guild.

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
I know Tyberos as I already mentioned through Shadow of the Phoenix.

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
They're pretty well put together, and it's also what makes me think that I could fit in here. A bunch of people who really likes being in each other's company will always bring a good atmosphere.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
I will of course approach him and tell him that I think he went out of line. If he disagrees I will take it to a council member discreetly. Guild drama is a thing I've had way too much of so any way that can be avoided is a good way.

Cake or Pie?
Cake, by far :)

Any questions just leave them in the thread and I will do my best to answer them!
