Seriously though ... / Re: RIP Blunt
July 18, 2024, 12:27:58 PM
I'm very sorry to hear that.

Blunt was an incredibly kind person. When I first joined dMw, Blunt was among the first people I interacted with. He always took care to make sure that newer members felt welcome and included.

You and your family have my condolences.

Quote from: faust82;449406That is a fantastic price (unless they're beaten to hell and smell of cat pee).

Better the smell of cat pee than the smell of human pee.

Quote from: Chaosphere;449358I have transcended into true audiofool snobbery and listen only to ridiculous and over priced wired headphones

 I have some level of respect for the snobbery because I couldn't deal with wired headphones after spending several years using wireless.

I got far too used to having the ability to get up and walk about with my headset on so when I went back to wired headphones (briefly before I got my current headset) I ended up snapping my head back repeatedly as I walked off while wearing them.

I should also note that the headset I recommended is something I've primarily used for gaming. For me personally, the music I listen to through these headphones sounds good, but I've not got anything of a higher quality to compare that to, so I wouldn't know what to listen for. As a gaming headset though, my recommendation remains.

Quote from: TheDvEight;449341Any recommendations for over-the-ear wireless/blue tooth headphones for use when listening to music /maybe for gaming with a detachable microphone? Max budget would be 200£ would be nice if it came with a case too :)

I can recommend the HyperX Cloud II Wireless.

I've owned them for about a year and half now and from my experience they're very comfortable.

I use a stand alone microphone so I can't speak first-hand as to the quality of the microphone but from a quick google search the reviews that deal with that seem to generally rate it as 'fine'. It's not spectacular but not bad either. Just, meh.

They come in well under budget at £150 RRP but can be bought at the moment for around about £110 on Amazon.

Unfortunately they don't come with a headset case.

One plus that they have is a very respectable battery life of 30 hours. Range wise, they seem to be pretty good. I can move from one end of the house to the other (with doors + walls in the way) and maintain the signal, it's only when I'm on a different floor that it becomes a little patchy.

You can probably get headphones that sound better or have a higher quality mic but for the price these are pretty good. :D

[Edit] One thing to note is these are wireless but not bluetooth. I think the equivalent bluetooth product is this.

Just played a very entertaining hearthstone battlegrounds game.

The three birds on the left trigger the deathrattle of a friendly minion
The demon in the middle gives its max health to other friendly minions as its deathrattle
The dragon makes any enchantments/buffs it receives during combat permanent
The second to last minion makes deathrattles trigger twice.

Quick Explanation:
The bird triggers the demon's deathrattle, this gives a bunch of health to the dragon, the dragon is now permanently buffed.

The hero I am playing has the ability to swap the stats of two minions as its hero power, in other words each turn I swap the stats of the demon and the dragon - creating a very, very quick scaling system.

From the mess that was my screen it's difficult to decipher the health of the dragon (?03,852,749 - hundreds of millions for sure but unclear on the first digit), what I can tell is that the demon's health is 97,864,038.

The game I was playing had murlocs banned and no one playing beasts in the end game, in other words it is very difficult to get a poisonous minion so most people rely purely on having higher stats than others.

Given that my opponents had minions at around the 50/50 to 100/100 size, they didn't make quite the impact they were hoping for :D

Fair warning there is some swearing and sexual references
That being said it's a comedic short film so that's kind of expected.

Counter-Strike / CS:GO buy scripts
June 09, 2019, 03:19:18 PM
Buy binds are always fairly useful to have though you won't need to download anything.
This site: http://csgobindsgenerator.com/ will generate buy binds for you according to what it is you want.

Having made those binds you can then enter them into your console or config, unsure if this is still the case but it used to be that entering into the console was only for 1 game session whereas the config would be for all game sessions. Personally I'd recommend copying them straight into an autoexec file.

This youtube video should still be relevant so I recommend you watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP7PSLdtUMU

Hopefully that helped.

I've no idea if anyone else even plays the game anymore but it might be the sort of thing where you want to login briefly between the 28th of November and December 2019. If you made an account on the 31st of December 2017 or prior to it then War Gaming is giving you a reward, with the quality of reward increasing with the account's age.

https://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/general-news/10-years-giveaway/

All of the bundles are nice to receive but there is one item included for people who made their accounts at least 4 years ago that is particularly desirable, the fabled T-50-2.
Years ago, prior to the introduction of physics along with about half the current tech trees there was a mythical light tank known as the T-50-2. It was and by many still is considered to be the best scout/light tank in the history of World of Tanks.
If your account was created in 2014 or earlier you are able to pick up an adjusted version of it for free (along with the rest of your bundle).

Basically if you have any interest in playing World of Tanks now or in the future and you're able to claim the reward you might as well.
