Battlefield 2 / Mic?

Hi Lads! A few of you will remember i tried the server the other night and had problems with my Mic so was forced to come and go trying to sort it?

It works in Windows setup and BF2 Setup, but when i go into a game it does'nt work?

So i exit and go throught the setup again...test and click apply and go back to the server and it fails again!???

It works perfect in COD 2 also so i have no idea what is going on there :(

Anyway i will keep trying and see you all when i do!

If anyone else has experienced this i would be interested how they resolved it?

Thank you

Hi guys I',m new to BF2 and probably not that good at it, but I found you via the Tactical Gamer site which appears to have the same ideals as you guys, just the kind of people I want to play with.

I'm a former soldier, 14 years with and Infantry Battalion, served in Londonderry, N Ireland 1970-72 in the bad old days, we were the resident Battalion there for that period, also saw service in Cyprus, Malta, West Germany (as it was then), Norway and Belize as well as two more tours of N Ireland, one in The New Lodge area of Belfast and the other down in County Fermanagh. My main role when not on active tours was as a Mortar Fire Controller (MFC), I loved that job, pity there's no requirement for any in civvi street. :)

I'm married to a Londonderry girl (well she was a girl 33 years ago :)), have two grown up sons and a dog called Paddy. I'm sort of semi retired now and live up in North Lincolnshire, about 500 metres from the Humber Bridge.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting some games in with you guys soon as my new computer arrives, and I've had time to get some practice in SP before venturing online. See you all soon. :)

Battlefield 2 / Map Pack 3 ....Need some help here?
January 25, 2006, 01:21:46 PM
Hi Lads! I downloaded map Pack 3 from this link

http://mapping.totalbf2.com/mappack3.htm

Then i went to single player to check it out. The Vanilla maps are visable as in they show on the right whilst the loading bar (white) progresses at the bottom. However when i click on the maps in the map pack....i notice the square on the right which normally shows the map in question as the game loads is blank?

The white bar finishes loading then my game disappears to desk top CTD's?

Any ideas of what i have not done properly?

I downloaded the files to the same folder as i installed BF2 to.

Map description is all there ie: details of say Alcatraz and dont fall in the water etc.

Thank you!

Battlefield 2 / How to check your BF2 FPS
January 24, 2006, 11:27:37 PM
http://www.fraps.com/

I use this. The free version only allows 30secs of  Video recording and you have to use Microsoft movie maker to compress it if you want to keep it. It is ok if you are about to knife someone and have enough time to hit a hot key.

It allows printscreens which are easy to view and save elsewhere.

You can subsribe for the full version for £21 one off. That version compresses the videos but in my opinion its not worth it as it will sap your resourses on the PC if video is used.

You can have your FPS on top or not and also place it at any corner you wish.

It also records benchmarking if you need it.

In my opinion it is a nice bit of kit and i use it all the time now.

Try it out, its free!

Battlefield 2 / Hi Everyone!

Hi Gentlemen and ladies (You never know whos playing)!

I found out today about this community as i love BF2 though i would say i am only an average player.

This has been spoilt by all the Bunnies and Dolphins which has ruined a fantastic game with cheating and rudeness.

Anyway I have registered and look forward to being a part of your community.

I live in Bournemouth and i am a War Pensioner aged 43yrs Married with a son who loves playing online too.

Could somebody please let me know what servers and the IP's that i am allowed to play on?

Thank you and look forward to playing you all.

Regards
